2006 C230
C230 Warranty Question

I have a 2006 C230 that is well within the warranty.

The clear coat on the paint is peeling/coming off in several places on the car.

It's going to the dealer to address an a/c issue; I've asked them to look at the clear coat problem.

Does anyone know if the clear coat is covered under a typical CPO warranty?

I would also be interested in hearing from knowledgable people as to what I can do (reapply some type of sealant, get used to it, get it repainted, etc) in the event the dealer doesn't have any helpful solutions.

Paint is subjective and allot of times with lack of proper care can peel and it wouldn't be MBs fault and usually CPO do not cover paint unless specified look in your documents when you purchased the car it list what is and isn't covered.

the paint is something they could easily blame on wear and tear, however the factory paint warranty is 7/100k i believe and if its something happening all over the car it could very well be covered with enough bi***ing

2006 C230
Took it to the dealer for the A/C issue and this clearcoat situation.

They said that the bumpers had been repainted, and that this meant that it wasn't their problem.

They recommended that I tell the dealership I bought it from and see if they'll help me. The dealership I bought it from is 1600 miles away.

Picked it up, grumbled for about a day, and now the A/C is not working again. I'm pissed.

Playing phone tag with the original dealership. I am anticipating no love from them either.

Any advice on how to proceed with the guys would be appreciated. I would like to think I could get ahold of Big Mercedes for help, but my guess is that they will pass it off to the dealership(s).
