Few thousand miles to quiet pads?

I had textars put installed for the rears on my 240, and it's the loudest thing I've ever heard if I put the car to rest for two hours after a long drive and start it up again. My akebonos haven't made a squeak, I followed proper bedding procedures. Are the textars still squeaking because the brake ratio is something like 70/30 and the rears take longer to break in?

Thanks!

Never heard of Textar. But when I got my entire brake system upgraded, with Akebono's of course, there was no squeaking whatsoever. Smooth sailing from the time it was rolled off the lift. Good luck man!

Here's an update.

I went into the garage twice already, each time they sanded down my rotors and pads to remove the glaze, etc. Afterwards, the squeak would be gone for a day and a half, and come back full force. They're replacing my textars with akebonos the next time I go in. Hope that clears it up.

Textar is also MB OEM pads...I have that on my W124.

And yes...it is more noisy than other brands, but it performs quite well!

Excellent service at Zotz. They replaced the Textars with Akebonos. Now, even after morning surface rust on the rotors, my pads are quiet. Stopping power is similar to stock. Overall, I'm quite happy with these pads. They're clean and quiet.
