'04 C230 Sedan Transmission part numbers
Hi,
I just had my transmission / radiator / torque converter replaced on my '04 C230 Kompressor (at 64,500 miles), part of which was "Mercedes goodwill," due to the dreaded glycol contamination issue. Looking at the invoice I received from the dealership, I notice that there are two line items (part numbers) each for the remanufactured transmission and for the torque converter.
For the transmission:
211-270-33-00-87
211-270-33-00-70
For the torque converter:
211-250-09-02-87
211-250-09-02-70
When I look up the MSRP pricing (i.e. at getmercedesparts.com), the -87 parts are about double the price of the -70 parts. Does anyone know the difference between the -87 and -70 suffixes? I thought -87 meant remanufactured. What does the -70 suffix mean?
Thanks!

This answered my own question...
https://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/part_number_guide.jsp
The -70 moniker looks like it represents a part with a core value to it. Hence, it is not a part but a credit.
