ABS brake pulse after changing to a/s tires?

I finally changed my winter tires to new all-seasons (Hercules MRIV 205-55-16) a few days ago at highly recommended Simply Tire in Toronto.

I get no vibration even at highway speeds indicating they are balanced properly. However, sometimes when I brake I feel what I think is ABS pulsing.

Can this be me not used to the increased stopping distances required with a less 'sticky' tire, and/or the need to break in a new tire?

They put them at 32 psi and I increased them to 36 psi with no change.

Also, I've had the Check Engine light indicator for a while which I feel is unrelated.
