Oh yah. The 05 came chopped full of stuff. It was plentiful and annoying to go through at the same time.
When I got my W204, the manager was explaining to me how there were so many additional features on my current model that were not there compared to my new model. Main reason was because of little failures in the system and eventual problems that may arise from having so many goodies. They filtered out the useless ones and moved on with the 204 giving it essentials and features that didn't break or weren't used so often (i.e. rear sun shade).

I don't because it smudges on my tint. LOL. I love my auto-rear-headrest drop though. I love messing with people when they're in the car with the headrest up and I just close it on them.

2005 was the last year for rear side airbags, real leather inserts, tow-away sensors.. there are more, I just can't recall right now.
I use my rear sunshade regularly, too. That remained through 2007 and is on the W204 if optioned properly.

Not true. The rear side airbags were an option on the 2006, and i beleive the 2007. Mixed MB-Tex/Leather seats were also in the 2006's as was the tow sensor. 2006's also retained the external truck lock. I believe all or most of these were taken out for 2007.

Yeah i could see the tint issue but i hope you use the headrest button as well lol Great for sleeping friends. Best feature of our cars i would pay whatever it took to fix it if it broke.

Lol, the collapsing headrests terrorize people. I often sneak one or two up b4 passengers get in the car LMAO.
One thing I wish I had from time to time was the folding rear seat. Long long ago, I picked up an exhaust for a friend and found out the hard way that my seats didn't fold. lol

Since I had a passenger in the front, we had a portion of the exhaust sticking out of the window.

I always thought with the W203s, the face lift on (2005, 2006 & 2007 MYs) were all quite reliable.
Then again, you do regularly see consistently more 2006 cars for sell, so perhaps some of the 4 cylinder supercharged cars have fallen off the market due to their health.
I had always wanted the supercharged 2005 car though. If I ever had the cash and needed an extra car, I'd still like one.

Yep, I meant the last year of the standard rear side airbags. I wasn't clear. I see now that the tow sensor was removed for 2007 (the same time they went to the cheap door lock tabs and black plastic around the headlight switch). Leather inserts were deleted after 2005 on C230 models, not sure about C350. Saw that in a brochure explaining changes for 2006. I had no idea the external trunk lock was ever removed.

According to the datacard of my car in STAR, it says my car has MB-Tex/leather seating surfaces. But, I can tell no difference between the seat and insert, so I think that maybe a misprint.

2005+ cars (the facelifted ones) are more reliable (as a whole) than 01-04 cars. Aside from the engine, the 2005s are identical to the 2006 and 2007 cars. Well, the engine, and the consistent cost-cutting measures that were in place beginning in 2006. 2005s were better equipped stock than the later 2006-2007 models.

Extreme Fail because I have the tow sensors which I believe are weight sensing sensors

Yes the 2006s have tow away sensors. The 2007s do not have these sensors. It's not a case of them removing the option to disable them (that would be incredibly stupid), it's that they aren't there anymore.
Also, the 2007s have black plastic surrounding the headlight switch regardless of interior color. Prior to this, the surround was whatever color the dash is (in my case, gray).
Karo don't forget to disable it with the button before we get in the back seat next time. If your car is like mine, even the slightest bit of rocking will set it off.

Yeah i actually don't like my tow sensor because i accidentally set it off in a concrete under ground garage. i had my car locked and decided to check a tire because i thought it had a nail in it. So i jack it up like two inches and the dam alarm goes off. Toke me like 30 seconds to find the key and turn it off i had rigging in my ears for a week. lol
