I've done the turbo hw and it's going to cost a lot of money and very hard to turbo our cars.

Thanks, honestly no mods for the car that are worth the money (IMO).
They have headers which claim they add 20hp I think it costs over 500 dollars. Then there is an ECU tune which claims 10-20 hp depending on company which is anywhere from 500 - 1 thousand.
Enjoy your car buddy, I'm sure more members will drop in and give you more tips. Post some pics of your car ohh and BTW Welcome to the Forum..Enjoy your Stay

dont lisetn to this guy he has no idea what he's talking about and Mercedes does not spend millions if not billions of dollars on R n D developing high efficient reliable engines..... put it this way... #1 if it were that easy to increase HP and MPG with a simple chip I bet Mercedes would've already done that. #2 Who knows what this will do to your onboard electronics if you happen to install a faulty one.
and #3.... Its NOT WORTH IT TO GO TURBO. You just better off buying a car that has stock HP. Example C55 or even spend another 3-4 thousband and bought urself a C55 at the same time

Exactly which part of Karo's reply did you not agree with, i am very curios to find out.And to say Karo doesn't know what he is talking about when it come's to mb and turbo's is misinformation to say the least HE HAS HIS OWN THREAD ABOUT IT. To the op i agree 100% with Karo if u would like more info on mb and turbo's read Karo's thread it might not be what u want to hear but Karo is right its a lot of time and it would take a lot of funding.

glad to see we're drama free..lol
To the op, this isn't a honda or even a vw. Aftermarket parts for our cars are limited and incredibly expensive. If you want performance on a budget, your better off just buying a honda, vw or a car with a ls1.
You can get some improved handling if you upgrade the suspension but thats the only noticeable mods you can do on a college budget.
However...a 07 c230 > then all gti's in getting the chicas..lol.

LOL, look at Milk.. protecting his young. lol
Anyway, it's true. Heavy mods aren't going to help much. There are certainly things that you can do to increase power, feel and sound but you won't be slapping horses on like you would with say... a Mazda3.
I'm in the process of completing a stage1 w/ Renntech Mercedes (currently have the ECU tune and exhaust from the package2), and the HP gains at best are 15hp and 14lbs/ft torque. Honestly, for the money, with another car, I'd have oodles of hp slapped on and no idea what to do with it... But with my car, despite such a little increase, I'm glad it's done.
All in all, mod for yourself. You're better off starting a project w/ another platform (classic car, import, kit car, whatever) as a racer. The MB still speaks for itself on another level.
Attached is a Renntech price sheet for reference.

A GTI runs a 14.9-15 sec 1/4 mile you run about a 16.1. Shaving a second off a 1/4 mile is not easy. You'll need about 50 hp to beat a gti. Even if you get a tune (+12 hp), intake, exhaust, and header. You wont have 50 hp (you might but its doubtfull on a 230)
For 2 grand though, you could prob check junk yards for a 350 engine then swap the internals and get a custom tune made You can tell people its stock, well thats my plan at least.

Buy the C55 and install a supercharger on that thing and you got one bad *** w203. This member sold one a while ago. It was a kleemann kompressor for I believe 28k. The car had low miles too. Well worth it

Too much headache modding and swapping things. Just get a smaller faster car. Get an Ariel Atom and spank your friends. When they laugh at you for getting bugs in ur teeth and rock chips in your forearms, remind them you've got a MB and they'll shut up. LOL
