scrapping noise when turning left PLUS popping?

scrapping noise when turning left PLUS popping?
Ok just this last week when turning left i noticed a scrapping noise seems to be on the passenger side related to speed and seems to go away when i hit the brakes
so i jacked up the front end this am and noticed when turned full left or right I get a poping from the cv joints ONLY at full turn (the boots are torn) but in such a way that little chance for anything to get in
so any ideas on the scrapping sound??
is the popping normal at full left or right ??? how can i test the cv joints???
