03 C230K Coupe 5spd (Auto)
Dyno'd '03 C230K Coupe 5spd (auto)

Took a few tries to keep it from downshifting (auto), but once we got it figured out, I was happy with the numbers. The car has 3,200 miles on it, figure it will be up a few more hp&tq over the next 7k miles as the breakin completes.

Bone stock C230K Coupe 5spd (auto).

Specs from the MB site were:

Net power 189 hp @ 5,800 rpm (flywheel)
Net torque 192 lb-ft @ 3,500 - 4,000 rpm (flywheel)

Assuming a 17% drive train loss, I expected 155rwhp/160rwtq

Since the car was a bit warm from the screwing around we did trying to keep it from downshifting I was happy with the final #'s.

154.9rwhp & 165.8rwtq

That's about right, the automatic 2.3L get low 160's hp at the wheels on a dynojet. I got 168 hp on a dynojet with a 6 spd at 4,000 miles but that has a lower drivetrains loss. One magazine showed 176 hp on their dyno during a review. Since you did a before dyno, can we assume you have plans for an after dyno

The C230K is supposed to be my reliable daily, hence non-mod'd. Guess we will see how long that lasts...lol

A baseline never hurts... just in case it gets mod'd

PS. My other car is a 550rwhp '94 RX7
Yes, it was quick stock when I put down 218rwhp, but it's a beast now...

My other car is a 120HP Chevy S10 but it's red so it looks like it's faster. Needs ASP pulleys but the wife is getting defensive so I'll have to sneak it on. I think with the ASP underdrive pulley and CAI I should be good for another 10-12 HP. Maybe a 4.10 rear gear for a quicker launch...
