Anyone tried this piece on the '02 C230 coupe and let me know if it will work.

 

The 02 85 hasn't been shown to work with any coupe.

For the other versions, 05 85 and 09 85, it's apparantly random chance if it works or not.

I tried a 0985, can control fan speed manually but it can't control the ventsvon the round dials and the defrost is on max hot and A/C on the face and leg vents.

 

2 Questions.

1. Are you sure it was an 09 you tried before?
2. Did you buy your car new? If not is it Cali Spec?

I believe the newest climate control is replaced by # 209-830-02-85

Ultmately, it works for all 203's & 209's

 

Not one Coupe works with the 02-85's

Here in Van, one my buddies got it to work, however he brought it to the dealer and they ran the "star" in order to recognize the diff blowers, and it worked!

 

First I've heard of that.
My dealer tried for 11 hours and could not get it to work.

i have the 05 model (first one?) and it seems to work fine. i've heard that the 09 works (second one?), and the latest model doesn't. btw, i have an '02.

 

exactlly what happened to me when i bought a 09 85 unit. ive been thinking about trying a 02 85 unit just to try, but i wont buy one unless i can return it. what year is your coupe and when was the build day if you know. mine was built dec 02, and its a 03 model. thanks!

 

I thought your didn't work becuase it was/is Cali-Spec.

again. that was one of the excuses i was given but a ca spec car such as a C320 had a 09 85 part #. thats what didnt make sense to me and why i wanna try something else. its worth a try. im not sure and just wanna try!
