When Will 2003's be Available?

I was just thinking... we are about to order an 02 C230 coupe for Euro Delivery on June 7th. Is there any chance we can skip to a 2003 model since June is pretty late in the 02 model year?

Different models come out different times of the year. The C-coupe and C-wagon where available on 8/1 last year while the rest of the C series came in mid September. Yet other MBs came out in October. It's your call if you can wait 3-4 months beyond June to get a 2003. I doubt much will be changed and the price can only go up. Is you price locked in or are you dependent on the exchange rate fluctuations? Do they have South American delivery from their plant in Brazil? Then you can drive it home!

No... cant wait on the delivery. The Euro Delivery program is just like if you were going to special order a car, except you pick it up in Stuttgart and you dont pay a destination fee (and you get 2 free nights of 1st class hotel). The price is not dependant at all on exchange rates. Agreed on the not much change/ increased cost. Even if they offered a 6-cyl, I'd still ge the 4.

AndrewK, if I remember correctly; the European Pickup Package costs between 12 and 15 grand, so the hotel costs and such are definetly not free.

accord, we already negotiated the deal and they had a form asking which two hotels we would like to stay at. Take a look at the Euro delivery section MBUSA.com, it outlines the program nicely. There are no 12K charges associated, in fact I think its about a $900 savings! Its a decent deal, but not quite as sweet as BMW's deal ($2000 off a 325)

When my dad ordered his S600 he was going to do Euro Pickup and the dealer told him that it would cost between 12 and 15k, so he didn't doit.

At many dealers the European delivery is done by a different group and the salesman loses the deal. This is their incentive for talking you out of it. I've gone through something similar to this on trying to order a car at a Ford dealer and they spent a lot of time talking me out of it but when I pressed further they took me to another group that handled that. If you are being told that it costs 12-15k extra I would call the dealer and ask to speak to the European delivery person and see what they say. From people that I have known over the years that have done it, the savings usually cover your expenses (airfare, hotel, etc.) and not much more. The reason some people do it is to save on the very expensive car rental rates in Europe and tie it in with a long vacation there. Now if the car is made in Brazil do they ship it to Germany for you to pick it up? (only kidding).
