I have the chance to trade with one of my family members for a brand spanking new 6 speed 350z... i'm wavering between whether or not i should do it... BTW I use the C-coupe as a everyday driver.....

350Z- Pros- great engine, great handling, killer exterior, very fun to drive
350Z - Cons- not very comfortable, plasticy interior, 2 seater, and its not a MB...


C-coupe- pros and cons- well i don't think i need to cover that.....

If it's an even trade, I'd take the 350Z. If money is involved, I think I would keep the coupe and spend the money on mods.

If you say the car is "not very comfortable", why would you consider it? Driving a "not very comfortable" car everyday is a pain in the a$$!!

Also, I really hate the Z's interior, I think it is one of the cheapest looking interior in the market.

hmmm i wanted to mod the heck outta the 350z... RICE!!!.... that would be a fun project... slap in turbo or two and make it over 500hp.... hey i'm still young, what do i need comfort for?? :p

although the safety issue is the factor that's bothering me.... Nissan = SAFE???

That I think is a hard choice but in the long run, I believe that I would be more happier with the Benz only because it's definitely more of a quality and well built car. The Nissan is tight and is just getting a lot of attention because it is new on the road. Just drive it for a bit and have fun with it. Actually, abuse it a bit and have fun with it!

oh man tough decision! haha if it were me, i would probably just ask the family member to trade temporarily that would be fun. but i think i would miss my coupe too much. i have gotten quite attached!

why cuz Im young? and modding my little coupe is $$$.. modding for the Nissan is hella cheaper and its a lot faster than our car.

I love the interior, but I love the coupes interior more... =]

Depends on what you want. Performance or luxury? The one bad thing about the 350z is the cheap plasticky interior. But the engine will definitely kill the 230.

If I had to chose I'd get the 350z. After all, when you got the coupe you must have been looking for sportiness too right? It's not like you got the sedan.

Well, IMO, they are both ugly. The Nissan will blow the doors of the Benz performance-wise. Straight-up trade, hmmm, flip a coin.

you already have one MB(slk), get something else

besides u can mod the 350z very easily and cheply to get 500+ hp
u cant do that on the 230k

i'd take the 350Z..... if its a even trade! uncomfortable but..... much much faster than ur c-coupe. and you will have more fun driving dat car!

I was also thinking about trading my car in it for it.

If you really look at what the benz is offering then you would think again.

The benz has the best quality materials IMO. The panromic sunroof. The saftey features. The comforot,and convience it comes it.


The 350Z does not have any of these. All the 350Z is just performance.

heck, i have toyed the idea of selling my c32 and getting the g35 coupe (very similar to the 350z).

i think they are great cars. i have driven in them. fine, the mercedes is more comfortable stock, but lower it and slap on bigger wheels and your ride will be almost as uncomfortable as the z. besides, the z seats are way better than the c coupe seats (IMO).

lets not forget a very important issue. people who like the z, REALLY like it. those that don't, HATE it.

I'm getting a whole bunch of mixed responses....

The reason my family member wants to trade is because he has driven my coupe and likes it a lot.... he's 24.. so i assume the MB symbol and the stares couldn't hurt...

That said, being that i'm 19 i don't need a MB status symbol, i'm only a college student and having a fast/flashy car is what it's all about, isn't it?? haha.... The coupe is still a attention grabber but it lacks in sporty performance that a car enthusiast like me craves.... it is a 4 to 5 seater which is great for my friends but the people in the back are still always complaining about "why didn't you get a 4 door".....

The 350Z downfall is that it's only a 2 seater with a "cheap interior" that obviously would have to be modified.... yes and the "girls" being picked up would be a problem but i only need one girl .... i also go snowboarding a lot with my C-coupe and i doubt the 350z could accomodate snowboards unless i get a ski rack but i could always borrow one of my family members car's.... i really don't mind a harsh ride from a everyday driver and fuel economy is inconsequential to me..... right now the con's outweigh the pro's..... i don't know, the offer was proposed... i was contemplating whether or not i should pass this great offer up... a new car for a almost 2 year old car.... hmmm... a nissan for a mb...

BTW don't get me wrong.. i like my coupey a lot.... it's just if this offer was made to you... would you take it?

Wow that 1st pic with the C-coupe and 350z makes the 350z look really ugly... perhaps it's just the color and the angle.... i know for sure the 350z looks better than that...

I think the color /angle excuse is just that. I really think the 350z looks like, ick. I think I am the only person so far that thinks that the Z is ugly. Really, really ugly. I hate the shape of it. .02 sentz.

I hate the door handles on the Z. Why they didn't make them body colored I have no idea.

From a former 300ZX owner and a Z-car "fan"...

Convince your relative to trade-in the 350Z for a G35 Infiniti Coupe and then work the trade. Now that would be SWEET! Plus it's got 4-seats.

IMO, the G35 is everyting the 350Z should have been. If you don't like that rear view, it gets worse when those idiotic amber turn signals in the bumper are lit. What was Nissan thinking?

LOL... i just went out... saw three 350Z's already.... THEY JUST CAME OUT!!!.... that's a lot in one day.... that convinced me not to trade... at least my coupe is still somewhat unique and quite COMFY!!!


EDIT-

BTW all of the 350Z's i saw today looked very nice... even though they resemble porsche's... Porsche wannabes??? LOL... i'd still get it if i didn't have to give up my C-coupe... very nice car but a little too unpractical for me...

if looks weren't everything and performance was, it would just pay ot get a subaru WRX wich has better performance than the 350Z. For grands less. But an even trade, i would never do it.
