5 year maintenance for 2005 C230k?
Wondering what kind of regular maintenance I should be looking at for my car right now. It's a 2005 c230k with 46k miles.
Things like transmission fluid, spark plugs etc...
What do you guys all recommend and what should I be looking out for in the in next 10-20k?
Also, does anyone elses car smell pretty musty/awful/like-melted-crayons after it sits for a night or so? If so, where is this coming from and how I do get rid of it!?

For the regular maintenance, I think you can start from this link. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

a quarter mile at a time
Well, the curve ball with your car is that it's very low miles, so you're going to have to look at things that are time dependant as well as mileage dependant.
I would personally do the following:
inspect and replace if necessary:
spark plugs
brake pads
brake rotors
battery (could be time if it hasn't been replaced once)
front suspension bushings (look for cracks and loss of fluid)
engine and transmission mounts
replace:
-engine oil and filter
-cabin filter
-engine air filter
-coolant (should have lasted 5 years)
-brake fluid (at next brake job)
-fuel filter
-transmission fluid and filter (MB says 100k miles, i call bull. definitely do this if it hasn't been done yet)
-rear diff fluid (same as transmission fluid)
There may be a couple of others, but these are the things that strike me off the top of my head. You can really save a lot by doing this yourself if you're up to it. You'll definitely be set for a while after this stuff is changed out.

MBWorld Fanatic!
The smell of crayons is never going away.
I'm at 85,000 with no problems and nothing but routine maintenance. No need to go all extreme, just do the basics as you would on most cars.

you can replace the cabin air filter and that might help with the smell, it helped on my car. it's not expensive at all ($15) so even if it doesn't fix the problem its not so bad.

This can be fixed with some type of cleaning procedure or something, I had it done at the dealer under warranty.
