Forget the speed i'll take the sporty feel of the 6MT (physically shifting those gears)

^ The M-DCT is a manual transmission as well, I think its actually more enjoyable than the 6M transmission, the M-DCT will roll back, and you have to manually upshift as well, it also comes with Shift lights, which 6M doesnt, and it also comes with M-DCT sensitivity, which is freakin awesome.
I ordered the M-DCT because it was highly recommended among the E9X M crowd and i've driven both, the M-DCT is def a happier car to drive in.

There's just some unquantifiable joy in driving a nice 6MT. I can't justify it and I do not deny or doubt anyone who says the M-DCT is better. I just prefer the involvement of a traditional 6MT.

Today, the type of cars where manual transmission might have advantages over its automatic counterparts are generally lower end economy cars from Asia where they don't put too much research and development into improving their automatic transmission.

Well that looks awfully familiar. Is it your's? Good shot!
And as I said, it doesn't matter how much *better* an automatic/semi-automatic transmission is. That does not change my preference or take away from the satisfaction I get from driving a manual. I don't drive at 10/10ths all the time. I love to work the clutch, to shift.. there is NO replacement for this. Just like sometime in the future when a car that you have to steer will be so yesterday and un-advanced but I'll still prefer it and I am not alone.

Sure having full control of a manual transmission is great if you want that control. But with the level of advancement in German engineering on automatic transmission,... even most professional car reviewers usually recommends the automatic over then manual transmission on any Mercedes and BMW. Why? Simply put because German luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW pump much more research and development money into automatic transmission than manual transmission. People buying these luxury cars want a smoother ride and generally don't want to be working a manual transmission when stuck in city traffic. ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
