Help with grill install on a coupe

Does the last fin (inside the red box) need to be removed and attached to the new grill? And if so, how? There are no clips or tabs in the back of the new grill.

Those three tabs secure the grill to the car. In the new grill, there is just one tab and unlike the oem grill, it doesn't have a hook. Look below.

On the sided of the OEM grill, there are slits as such:

But on the new grill, its solid. So do i actually have to create that slit myself??

Please advise!
Not too sure what to advise. . . mine was just an easy swap in

***. anyways, does that last fin on the oem grill (i had painted in black and is within the red outline in the above pic) need to be attached or no?

Well first off, the real thing isnt made of fiber glass. . . the tabs are alot different with the "slit" already on those two side tabs, and it contains those other two tabs on the bottom as well as the spot to put the push pin through.
Difference is night and day . . . and it does look like you'll have to do some extra work to make it fit properly.

Drill a hole on that bottom piece so you can put a push pin through.

I don't think you'll have to cut slits in these pieces, just be careful when you slide them into the tabs on the car and then secure them in with the oem clips provided.

Then transfer that black plastic "thingy" from the top of you stock grille and snap it in into your new grille and secure it, you may need to trim a bit of plastic off your thingy so it will fit properly on the new grille.
Thats it, I think it should work out. . .
On the side, we dremeled/sanded the side so that it could fit inside the hole
Before (ignore the red box):

After:

NOTE: On one side (only one side), we cut that round piece a little so that it would make it easier to slide in.
Then on top, drilled holed so that we could clip it onto the bracket (placement of where the hole is important, so make sure you measure it)
Before (the top two flaps)

After

Now in order for the grill to snap on to the bracket, the bracket had to be modified as such. There is an arc in the middle of the bracket which has to be cut out so that the grill can sit flush.

The 2005 coupe have hooks vs a placeholder for a screw on the bottom and this grill was meant to be for pre-2005 coupes it seems. So we took an bracket with holes and created our own hook (sorry, didnt take a pic
) and then drilled the hole as such (a little bigger than what is in the pic so that the screw would go in). Then we slid in the hook into the car and a screw through the hole from the grill into the bracket.
And then at the end of the day, we have this

Sorry, not the best description, but im sure all you will figure it out since you guys are more DIY'ers than me. lol.
