2004 Civic Si. FWD for the Win!
Can we separate this discussion from watches? Watches are an extreme example of companies using a movement that costs less than $25, then adding $200 in metal and then charging $2500.

Unless you're in the Buellwinkle group and believe that's exactly what these pulley manufacturers are doing.

There definitely are some good margins out there on these parts, though. Honda tuners wouldn't be able to get away with these prices. To use an example, Jackson Racing makes a complete supercharger system for my crx that costs $3k for the WHOLE kit.
On the other hand, I wouldn't be comfortable with adding a part to my $30k car that wasn't completely tested. I vote for standing on the sidelines until the whole mess gets sorted out, then see who's left standing. I choose to be Switzerland. :p

The picture from Buellwinkle shows a kit to a 230 K before 2000,
the old model.

The stainless steel pipe is BS the cars have a huge power drop in the mid rpm's , because of bad air flow.

The only place I found Buellwinkle's pic on Carlsson's site is in the SLK tuning section. The photo is captioned as follows:

Leistungs-Kit

Performance kit
CK 32
180 kW (245 PS)/
5700 1/min
Basis SLK 320

What are you guys talking about, I thought this post was about watches. I couldn't find anything about the C230K kit so I used the picture from the SLK230K since both are the same motor. It doesn't matter since they don't sell the kit in the US, at least not from their authorized distributor. If someone has a US source for the Carlsson kit that you can actually buy it from then please post it.

Now if Kleemann is like a Rolex and RennTech is like a Tag Heuer than what's the Carlsson kit like? I like the idea of good old American like the Timex, Evosport and ASP. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking for my car. Don't need a finicky high maintenance watch to drive to work in everyday.

Forget Carlsson as a performance specialist, it's common knowlegde here in Europe, that most of the MBZ tuners really
not is interested in selling engine conversions, why their prices
are extreemly high, that will stop 99,9 % of the customers from buying. But..... they will sell accessories like wheels and spoilers.

Carlsson is reprecented in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and from what I understand from this board, in the US by wheel companies.

Does it look like to any of you, that they are interested in selling
engine conversions at all ?????

Kleemann power is " hard core" compared to Carlsson, any body try and call them and ask when they can deliver their compressors for V6 and V8, they launched them 15 month ago
at Essen motor show in Germany, untill now no body ever tested
a Carlsson compressor car. Despite that, all magazines prints press realeases from them how fantastic they are ( remember
the car can not even drive ), and all of you buy the wheels.

Exactly! Lots of hype and marketing to sell wheels and body kits and that makes us believe they have the best engine mods.

Just look at BRABUS, a 3,8 V6 conversion cost approx. two times
a Kleemann V6 and gives 40 - 50 HP, thats fair ???

How stupid do they thing we are..... 3,8.... just read their specs.
it's 3706 ccm, where I went to school we where alloud to go up
at ,5. But they sell a lot of wheels.
