Post New C class!

I am in the process of buying a new 2002 C320. I have heard a lot of bad things abouth the new C class. After purchase people are bringing them back to the dealer various times for adjustments. Is this common for MB? Does anyone recommend me to still buy this car? Any help would be appreciated!

I had the same concern about the car -- I just finished a nasty lemon law case, so I did not want to deal with any more dealerships.

And for the record, Consumer Reports does recommend this car. That was a huge plus for me.

You might want to read this thread that MBworld members were so nice to respond to my question about reliability. https://mbworld.org/forum/home.html

This is what I took from the thread and why I decided to buy the car.

The bad news is...

(1) its not a Honda, it will be in the shop more. If I had the money, I would have mostly like bought a Lexus or Infiniti, but I did not.

(2) my car came from the factory with a small fuel gauge issue which seems to be a theme with these cars.

The good news is...

(1) I love my car! It's awesome. Huge bang for the buck.

(2) German cars are the most fun to drive (IMHO) and this is the most reliable of the German cars.

(3) When it's in the shop, my dealer will give me nice loaners -- most likey better MBs

(3) If after 50,000 miles it's so unreliable, I don't trust it , MBs keep their retail vaule and I can sell it.

Hope this helps.
