The front domes are removed by prying out the big lens then underneath that is a push clip. Once you pull it the whole assembly comes out and you can replace all the bulbs.

To remove the dome you have to pry the big lens out with a flat head screwdriver and then there is a push clip under the lens. You push it and then the assembly comes out. Once out you can replace all the bulbs.

to expand on JP's explanation, there are two slots on the windshield side of the dome light lense. you pry one lightly until it pops, then pry the other one and the whole lense comes out. You will see the festoon bulb right there and can replace it, but i would wait til you put the whole thing back up.
after that, there are two little slider things that you will have to push toward the windshield to drop the whole assembly. i first did one side and pried it loose, then the other and the whole thing drops out. the wires and sockets for the map lights will be visible and you just twist and pull them out similar to if you were changing one of the headlight bulbs. DO NOT TRY TO PRY THE MAP LIGHT LENSE, IT WILL BREAK.
once you put the map light bulbs in, you can pop the whole assembly back in place, put in the festoon dome light bulb, and then put the dome light lense back on.
i can take pictures if you want, i'm just feeling lazy to go out to the car right now

also, just as an FYI, for the floor lights, there is one in at the bottom of each front door. there is a slot at the rear of the lense that you can push in a flathead and gently pry it down and slide out. then you just pull out the wedge bulb and put the new one in and put it back.

Thanks for elaborating on that petar! I was at work and am not allowed to be on my phone. I was on a quick little break so I tried contributing as quick as I could. Good explanation. My friend.

and in case anyone is wondering what the bulb specs for everything are(w203 sedan, not sure about coupe):
dome lights - 2 39mm festoon bulbs(1 for each light)
map lights - 2 total, 1 each t10 194 wedge bulb
floor lights - 2 total, 1 each t10 194 wedge bulb
vanity lights at visors - 2 total, 1 each 36mm festoon bulbs
glove box light - 1 36mm festoon bulb
license plates - 2 total 36mm festoon bulbs(this one i'm not 100% sure but it's either the 36mm or 39mm, i will check later to confirm, almost positive it's 36mm though)
trunk light - almost positive it's 36mm festoon
so to do everything it should be(if i'm right about trunk and license plate):
2 39mm festoon bulbs
4 t10 194 wedge bulbs
6 36mm festoon bulbs
and also, if you want to know what goes in the "city" lights, or driving lights, or whatever you want to call them, i'm referring to the inner two lights beside the headlights, they get a t10 194 wedge bulb. i didn't buy LEDs for those, i have piaa 194/168 Xtreme White wedge bulbs in there.

+1 thanks for postage that. And yeah those will take 36 or 39mm on those but I ordered all 36's but for some reason the trunk light seemed a bit bigger to me so I got a 39 for that one and it fit.

yeah it seems like the 39mm might squeeze into the 36mm slots and i wouldn't think it's a problem if they're all the same wattage right? i've got an extra set of the 39mm and i was thinking i could squeeze them into the license plate lights

yeah dude, if you open your front doors and look the bottom you will see a lense on each side. when the door is closed, they shine onto the floor of the car. unfortunately, our cars don't have any floor lights for the back seats though

I'm actually planing on trying to wire my white LED strips to these puddle lights and stick the led lights on the top part of the foot-well (where you cant see them); that way when i open the door, not only do the puddle lights light up the ground but also the foot area =D

thanks for the step by step instructions on how to disassemble the interior lighting housing. I was able to throw in my PIAA's into the map lights.
Met up with Mike yesterday to get the led's, installed them this morning, and they look great! Thanks for the great products!
I actually might be interested in 2 39mm festoons in 5000k for the domes. lmk Mike.
