My 240 has just over 105,000 miles! What a great car. German cars are the only cars I've ever seen that handle that much mileage this well. I drover around a bit tonight, and have to say I'm very impressed with the low road noise, and the sure footed nature of the DWS. I'll be really happy if I can get 35-40K out of them. BTW, is there anything that can be done to lessen the shoulder wear problem?

My white car is gray now. No joke I haven't washed it in 5 months. I wanna wash it and by the time I clean the interior I get tired and just hose it down

That's why I have kids! Unfortunately I'm out of town for work, and will either have to pay for it, or do it myself; sadly much more likely to pay for it . I really want to get it shiny and do a photo shoot. I bought both my daughter and step-daughter Olympus E-600 cameras... time for them to start pulling their weight!

So a quick update on my latest adventure. Went down to San Antonio to buy some wheels from Hcalvarez on Saturday, and we did a mini meet with Wardsweb... in the rain. Check out Ward's thread about that. Drove back to Dallas the same day, and then had to drive back out to East Texas Sunday night for work.
Well, when I went to leave for lunch today I heard a weird noise, and stopped at the guard shack to check it out. Long story short, shiny metal bits were in my tires, and they were all flat. Seems that a truck had dropped a box of small parts (screws, nails, and metal pieces) and I drove right through them. So the guard called a tow truck for me and I took my car to store that sells tires (supposedly) at a discount. Didn't take any pictures of the damaged tires, but here it is on the lift getting new shoes.
I had been doing quite a bit of research the past month or so, and already knew what tires I wanted. Luckily they had them in stock, so I went with Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires all the way around 225 up front 245 in back
So far I'm impressed. They are very smooth, and the wet traction seems solid (which is good considering how wet it is right now!

I would be a poor friend if I didn't update you guys with my first impressions. Last night I put 20 miles on them in town, and was happy, but it wasn't a great way to tell about road noise. So this morning I drove my regular route from Longview past Tatum, to the power plant I'm working at for the time being. WOW!
Very smooth ride, maybe this is due to the "soft" sidewall that some people complain about, I don't know, but it was a very smooth ride, with very low road noise. Realize that these roads I'm driving on are garbage, they get way to much semi traffic, and I usually have to turn my radio up to 25 in order to hear the book I'm listening too (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo). Road noise has been reduced to the point that I was able to listen to it on 15-17. That definitely impressed me.
As for performance, I had one pucker inducing moment as a deer jumped out into the road in front of me. Car handled great.
DWS... FTW!

Thats a great book! I was thinking of getting the DWS but I got the Pzero Nero All seasons and I cant complain. I dont think tirerack sells them anymore though or I wouldve got them for my new wheels.

I remember seeing them on Tirerack.com, and was planning on buying them from them. Of course since I had to get them NOW, and ended up paying more than I would have from Tire Rack. It is a good book, I've gotten about 1/4 of the way through it so far, and I'm hooked. My Dad told me to read it, he and I have very similar taste in books.

I actually got my RE760 off discount tires ebay store, I saved some money over tirerack, plus they do free shipping and its usually in stock at one of my local discount tires so I get the tires the same day or next day. Then I just go to an Indy tire shop and have them put the tires on for like 30 Funny thing is that I had a nail in one of my old tires and I took it to discount tire and they fixed it for free even though I didnt buy it directly from them, they also fixed my gf's tire that had a slow leak for free too.

The Movie? I didn't know there was a movie of it! I never fail to finish a series once I've started. We still need to get together for a North Texas meet!

Yeah we need to met up sometime. If you're ever in my area you can hang with me and my friends at their car shop. And if you ever need body work done we'll give you a good deal, probably better than any shop around.

Now you're talking! After meeting up with the San Antonie crew I'm ready to get a body kit from Suvneer and start getting my ride looking better. So body kit and headlights and suspension and... and... and...

We'll have to get together before then, it might take a while for me to talk my wife into the body kit.

My daughter got her learner's permit yesterday, and I we did her first driving lesson last night... in the Benz.
She did really well! So, now I'm shopping for a car for her birthday in July. I think she's going to get a BMW E30, or an older MB coupe. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I'm not worried, she's too smart for our crowd! She's a straight A honor student that has invitations to spend the summer abroad at several different schools. Like I said, out of our league.

Wow mike this must be a scary time for you. I remember when I got my permit lol i would try to scare my parents as much as possible. The first car i drove on the road was a 95 911 6spd lol a little faster than a c240. I honestly think that any new drive should get a car with airbags and esp but thats just me. I saw way to many of my friends do stupid crap and wreck in high school. Even lost a few
