Remember that the 03 coupe has a different roof rail system from the 02 coupe.

Now I know what the "bellows" are-- the folded material which runs parallel to the driver and passenger windows; most visible when the roof is in the tilt position. Anyone know how to clean off all the grease/lube which my dealer left for me all over the glass portion of the roof?

I wouldn't take off the lube - it probably prevents the roof from squeaking. My roof is now totally lubed up - no squeaks!

I also had the baffles replaced on my 3rd sunroof visit. It was good for maybe a couple days and then started creaking again. Since I have attached a kind of window seal where the back end of the sunroof closes down on the roof portion I have no more squeaks....

When I had the problem I found it was only happening when the roof was fully closed. What are people experience of the noise, does it go away when you open the roof slightly?

Same here. I get the noise only when the roof is completely closed. But since it got all greased up it's quiet as can be...

I have same problem. I heard that either you want to grease up or clean up. I want to clean up the underneath of the sunroof glass. Is there anyone knows how to clean the inside part of the sunroof. I have hard time to access to the area meets rubber seal from the inside and outside.

Yes, I've heard the "cleanup thing" too so that's what I tried first. It made things worse. Think about it, if it's a given that the roof is sliding around up there (due to some design defect) would it be better for the rubber to be totally lubed or totally clean. What happens when you have a rubber / window seal that's totally clean? I am sure it would squeak like crazy.

Anyways, I am sure the lube option comes with its own problems (such as grease dripping off the roof when I open the sunroof).

I have a problem with the sunroof making noise, but its at high speeds. When I'm crusing over 100, I start getting wind noise, which is highly annoying.

Sounds like you used the wrong stuff.

I did ask the dealer once if it was better if I just do it myself and he said they use some special lube, it was better to just bring it in.

So I'd recommend just wiping down the roof as best you can, bringing it to the dealer, and just complaining about the noise. Say nothing about what you added to the problem on your own.

mine started to do that about 4 weeks ago. i took in for service to fix the roof noise as well as i needed a new HVAC for my car, no heat would come out unless the knobs were set all the way to 80 degrees, 79 and less was a/c. they fixed it but it started again. before i couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. but i found it this time. the little accordian looking thing that are found on the left and right side of the pano roof. the one on the driver side is making noise when the roof is closed. when open it doesn't at all. i found that if i just touch it to stop the vibration the noise stops. i have no other problems right now, so im going to wait until either service a or something else to show up before i take it in.

What I can't understand is why MB has not issued a TSB on this. It seems almost everyone runs into this problem eventually. And the dealer acts dumbfounded, as in "oh really? it squeaks? THAT's interesting! And the last fix didn't work?"

Did you ask dealer to clean the grease?
I did, when I get the smuges and finger print on my seat after I got service. Guess what I got from dealer. Full detail.

Try it, it might work. Good luck!
