lights...

What kidn of lights do the mirrors use, cuz I want to change those orange lights ofr white lights. Also where can I buy the Xenon Bulbs (the cheap ones, I dont have $800 to spend on them), and what kind of bulbs do the C230 coupe uses.

I think I need 6 bulbs, 4 + the 2 fog lights, but I dont think ill put them on the fog lights.

Look in your Owners Manuel for bulb size. Go to Pep Boys, Trak Auto or Auto Zone for blue tinted Halogen bulbs that pretend to have the look of real HID Xenon lights.

my daughter wanted Xenon lights, but it didnt come with her SLK320. So i went to bmwxenon.com and bought one set of Xenons. It looks much like the Xenons on my car except with more of a bluish tint to it. She loves it, i saved a boatload of money rather then buying real Xenons from autoclass.net or hids4less.com

I believe the turn signal repeaters in the mirrors use LED's. In a previous post someone asked the same question and I think the conclusion was, this would be very difficult to do. Plus, as others have said, they are orange for a reason, to indicate their function. Question for you: What is it with changing all the lights to white?? Are you also planning to change out your red tail/stop lights?

I would give up on the side mirror lights. It is quite difficult. As for the other lights I would go to a Japanese tuner shop and get the bulbs. Do not buy APC. APC is just poor quality. Do not buy PIAA. I did and they blew out. Actually all of my friends who got PIAA's had theirs blow within the year. The Pep boys plasma blue does not look good. It looks just about stock. Its not worth your time. If your car is anything like mine then it takes H7 for headlights, wedge bulbs for the light next to the headlight which lights dimly, single filament bulb for the turn signal, and I think H4 for the foglights. I could be wrong about the fog light. The others Im sure of. If you have any trouble locating a tunershop there are several on the web. Just ask me and I will provide some links for you later.

Price of headlights should be around $40-50, foglight is about the same, the rest is under $10.

Yes the low and high beam use a 55w H7 bulb. Has anyone used a higher watt bulb. And the fog is a 9006 55w bulb
Hope this helps

I saw a car like this, with the mirror lights white, and it looked really good. No I dont plan on changing the rear to white.

I read on MBNZ.org that someone did find away to change the LED's..below is the quote from the post.. i have also pasted the link to the thread. Once you are done. please post a pic

Move your mirrors inward all the way. You should see a screw. Take it out and the cover is easily removed.

The turn indicator lamps in the mirrors are incandesent. See page 350 of the C-coupe Operator's Manual.
