02 c230k coupe
02 c230k trunk opens with key ?
I have an 02 c230k coupe, and my trunk never automatically opens when i press on the trunk unlock button on my key. Is it suppose to automatically open my trunk or is it only suppose to unlock my trunk ? All it is doing now is unlocking the trunk. Anyone know what is the problem ?

That's actually the passenger eject button too. Be very careful!! 
No, it only unlocks the trunk only, it doesn't pop it at all. That would be a nice feature, though.

but you can adjust the spring tension and make it open when you press the buttom on the remote or the release on the door.........but wait this is for the sedans........for coupe/hatchback I have no idea......... :-(

I have seen the same issue on previous coupes (not Merc) I've owned. Was able to have the trunk pop-up fully by purchasing better, more powerful springs.
I haven't looked in a while (about a year ago last check), but I've not seen any after-market ones for the c230 coupe that are more 'powerful'. I think it would be a relatively easy install if some were sourced.

97w202, pop the trunk and look underneath, make be you will need to remove the liner and access the spring, but I know for a fact that this can be done. I have personally not done this but was involved in a privous discuession as I had a spoiler then and my trunk would not pop due to the additionla weight and then people chimed in and siad that it can be adjusted for more tension ........try to get access to the spring mechanism and post some pics if you are successful.............I will take a jab at it this weekend and post pics if I get to it...........

Remove the trim on both sides. then you can pull the spring and move to one of three holes on each side remember the don't have to be on the same hole. mine flew up way to fast with both on middle hole.
