Highway driving
Unfortunately my spring break had to end today. I live in the North East so I suffer the winter without a car at school. I brought it out today to drive back to school.
Im driving on I90 and theres a guy going 55 so naturally everyones passing him. I get over in the left lane and theres a camaro in front of me. Theres a good distance between me and the camaro and then I see the camaro swerve off the road into the grass median. Im like what the ... Then I see three cars at a dead stop in the left lane and one dumb guy trying to do a U turn. I tried to swerve into the left lane at first while I was slowing down. My rotors are warped and the car wasn't slowing down fast. Then I see a truck coming up in the right laneI got back in the left lane and tried to brake, but there was no way I was not going into the guy infront of me. So I decided the right lane was my best option. I dropped it into 3rd and and tried to get in front of the truck. Next thing I know im looking back and theres a camaro on thoff the road on the left two cars stopped in the left my car and then a truck half way in the right lane and off the road. Somehow my car made it throguh and so did everyone else. What kind of idiot makes a u trun on a toll highway....
Man Im glad my car wasn't hurt.

wow...
glad that you made it out of there all in one-piece. apparently there have been some other people on the board who aren't as fortunate. I just had one case of my fender being scratched after stupid valeting parking. Can i get that replaced somehow w/o spending a dime?

how deep is the scratch? My CLK has the finish that the dealership can put on, I forgot the name. It had a few scratches and I put some of the formula on it that came with the car and they buffed right out by hand.
For scratches down to the metal I don't know what your best option is. I fixed a friends jeep with a touch up kit from advanced auto parts. It looks flawless unless you are looking right at the spot and you are close. There might be a better way though

I-81 just South of Syracuse, NY I was passing a Caravan doing about 80 and the Caravan hit a good sized rock that was in the road. It hit the side of the Coupe and when I got out to look, after I reached my destination, is when I noticed the scratch and dent behind the passenger door. Then the next morning I was thinking to myself that it sounded like it hit a few times, so I looked again and noticed the smaller scratch and the little chunk taken out of the rear C7 wheel. Oh well, I made it 5000 miles without any damage, I would have liked it to be the life of the auto, but crap happens.

You need to get your rotors/brakes fixed right away. If the car is to blame (not slowing down fast as you described), you are knowingly driving an unsafe vehicle and putting yourself and others in danger.

the lexus? the windscreen didn't even get damaged. I'm not sure what happened to its driver, the lexus, though.
