wagon hatch wont stay up when cold?
ok was 5c this morning and i went to open the hatch on my 03 c240 wagon and the dam thing fell and hit me! I was on my driveway which has a slight incline not much thru
so ive noticed that it wont stay open when its cold the shock strut things are not leaking so how to tell if they are bad? is this common on these cars??

sorry you can't keep it up there is a pill for that
ok so there are not many wagons on here but i think the coupes have the shock things to keep it up hopefully some coupe guys chime in. I would say that they are just worn out and need replacing very simple to do. take a look at them and see if you can find the PN for them.

il get the part # tomorrow
problem is alot of us parts places/stores wont ship to canada or charge like 5x the actual shipping cost makeing it more expensive to buy
due to the length i think shipping would suck
i try and order a bunch of stuff at once to save shipping but i dont really need anything else right now!
its worth it for alot of things thru
just got a set (4) of sottozero 2 snow tires for $400.00 less then i could in canada from tirerack even with total shipping costs of 132.00 including ups customs fee

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
It is common for gas springs to leak over time. They are charged with Nitrogen and the seals give up between five and ten years depending how much you use them.

Yes, it is your struts. The internal pressure drops with the temperature.
You're lucky you are in Canada. Contact www.strutwise.com. They are somewhere up there. He can recharge your struts and does a great job. Tell Frank, Henry with the 308 sent you.
