I know that at some point they changed the front panel to a different type.
Anyone know the details about this?

The bump on 2003 on (or is it 04?)
reduces buffering.
Or in other words the horrible wump wump sound you get at speed.
Rattling is likely air hitting the sunshade.

I just close it half-way at speed. Of course it doesn't seem to bad with the windows down and the sunroof open. I've often wondered if the little bump made a difference. If I ever find that front panel cheap I may find out.
I want to say I read somewhere that there was a "retrofit" bump that stuck on for a little while in like 2003, but that may well be my imagination.
