Hi Everyone, I bough a 2003 C230 Kompressor Sport this June and it was fine, but I am having some strange issues. Almost every other start of the car I get 3 error messages. They are the SRS Restraint system failure, BAS system failure, and ESP system failure. If I restart the car, it usually goes away though.

And then about every 10th start I get and alternator/battery visit workshop warning, again restart a few time usually fixes this.

The MB dealership is quite far away, so I wanted to make sure it was not just some common fuse thing that I could fix.

Do you know how old is your battery?

The battery is from 2005.

Most likely your battery is causing all those malfunctions.

Does the old age just do that? Also, should I replace with a MB battery or will an autozone one work fine. The reason I ask is because I have an autozone down the street and the MB dealer is about and hour and a half away.

Nope, everything on the car is stock.

Try to call 1-800-FOR-MERCedes (MB Road Assistance) and see what they offer. They come and change it for you for the price of battery only.

You were right! I took it to auto zone and the battery failed the test. Bought a new battery and no more of these errors. Thanks for your help!
