Oil Type

Hello:
I am wondering if anybody knows what oil viscosity does MB dealer use for the C class (non kompressor, C240 to be exact) when they do oil change (in California)

Thanks,

This has been thrashed about since the very first coupe went wheels-down. The general consensus seems to be that IF there is a consensus among the dealers, it is probably Mobil 1 0W40. However, many people think (or know) that their dealers use something else that is still approved. RTFM, shop around locally, and buy something approved that you can find. If you want to stick with the supposed default, Autozone has started carrying the Mobil 1 0W40 in some areas.

My dealer uses Castrol Syntec 5W-50, which is approved by MB per the "Factory Appoved Service Products" booklet.
