I suppose it's really a matter of taste but in your opinion, can I run the wheels in the picture (yes it's a crappy photoshop) on my merc or are they a too obvious Audi-wheel that will look odd and out of place?

I think you did a fine Pshop job indeed.
They look very similar to some new E-class AMG wheels... could always buy some replicas for a reasonable $$ amount? That is unless you're getting these for a steal.
