You are welcome but pdf is not mine, I borrow it from here http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w203...ssor-w203.html becasue "briansbrowns" couldn't open file from there, so credit to "c config" from BenzWorld, I hope he doesn't mind...

C230K
P0410 Fixes?

Friends:

I have an '04 C230K with the 4 cyl engine. For the past couple weeks it has thrown the P0410 code. 2 codes show: P0410 and P0410 [pending]. After reading and erasing the code, it comes back after a couple days/couple hundred miles.

I have read this thread a couple times and it looks like the engine discussed above is not the 4 cyl. I have a Haynes manual and have located the air injection exhaust gas recirculation combination valve...it looks simple enough to replace.

I am not a top mechanic but willing to give things a go if they are simple. So, rather than take it to my guy who can probably fix this in a day, can anyone let me know:

1) is the recirc combo valve the problem, and if so, is it hard to replace?
2) is it some other sensor/relay and if so, what, where and how hard to replace?
3) any other ideas.

Thanks in advance for a moment of your wisdom. Hope I can return the favor in the future.

Mark

Hi Guys,

I've gone through and replaced all the valves like on the DIY and also went further to replace the spark plugs and tried to reset the circulator valve but the issue keeps coming back. I have an 02 c230 coupe with 174xxx miles and lately it seems like it comes back almost every time after i reset the code.

any suggestions?

thanks!

Most likely you have the M111 engine on your 2002 coupe. A common part to get dirty is the check valve on these engines once you get some miles on the car. Is this one that you have replaced? If its never been replaced with 174,000 miles it's time. Check out this thread:

I just turned 100,000 miles on my 2002 coupe and got the p0410 code about a week ago...car ran fine. Reset light and it as not returned. Ordered check valve from parts.com as insurance

Hope this helps

Hey,

I did replace that part (almost every part associated with this code as well), but still cant figure out what the issue is.. and it is the 111 engine.

I've got the same problem with my car...keep getting p0410. I clear the code, the car runs fine for anywhere from a day to several before p0410 comes up again. Strangley enough, this only happens when the outside temperature dips below about 15 deg C. When the outside temp is consistently above this temp (spring, summer and into fall around here), I never get this code. This has happened consistently for the past 5 years and I'd love to know why...
