Help: Replacing w203 supercharger

I have searched this forum and not been able to find any DIY for replacing supercharger on my 02c230k.
(153kmi)

Does anyone know of a good link w/ pics????

Dealer recommends front main seal $500
PCV, crankcase vent hoses, oil sep w/ intake manif $850
Tensioners $650

they also say SC is very loud and could fail at some pt in future. He did say that if I was mechanically inclined, it is not such a difficult task and I could save some $ by DIY. He says I should make a priority though if I am investing $2k already.

Any help you can provide is appreciated.
THanks

Hmmmm.....well I did mine.
Didn't write a DIY per se. It's prettyh self explanatory, except for that damn clip on the intercooler hose.
Replace the plenum gasket, and where the intake goes into the throttle body.
Somewhere I documented the trick for removing and reattaching the hose
that comes from the intercooler.
It was in relation to removing the supercharger muffler, so maybe search on that with my name.
Basically, you remove the air clearner, which pops up once you undo the one bolt, and
the clip on the intake.
Remove the belt, remove the oil catch box,
remove the top plenum from the SC, and then the SC from the engine.
This requires some Inverted torx sockets, and a whatayacallit, universal, that allows the socket to swivel.
In this video you see the steps for getting the plenum off.

Here's some more stuff,
with links to other threads where I posted pn's etc.
Check ebay for a new SC or rebuilt.

500 for a front seal? I did replace my tensioner on the supercharger, not on the alternator side and some pullies because of noise.

Tensioners $650- Woa!? Which, what tensioners? Each they are about $100 + pulley, and easy to replace. Remove plastic cover from front of tensioner, put big **** socket on front bolt holding pullies on, remove pulley, then 3 bolts for tension become obvious. A 15 minute job, mabe 30 minutes for both.

Go find a qualified indy mechanic. The dealer is ripping you off. 2 grand should buy tensioners hoses, pullies, AND a new Supercharger, less than that even.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.

Thanks for info

Too late to shop for indie. Some of the svcs at this dealer have been less $$ than the indie I've used in the area (still new here only 1 yr)....and I was sold by the tech who was not high pressure at all, even recommending I do the SC myself. I plan to try to work them down on price a bit, and he offered that that might be possible as his quotes included some duplicate steps, which would not be charged at final bill. Still $2k for everything sounds 'nicer' than 2k + DIY SC.
Did you replace your SC with stock or hi perf? After replac't did you notice inc in pwr/mpg?
Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences!
Andy
