Tommy's awe-inspiring Ccoupe
Seriously, there's enough light output here that I don't really need to care about creating a path of light for myself. On the other front, if I sold/traded in/did a drift into the Meadowlands facility in the Benz in an amazing ode to F&F, I wouldn't come here anymore. I don't understand those who continue to come to a forum after they don't own the marque anymore. Never understood that one.

Besides, I highly doubt most people would want to do what I've done to my car. That was too bad about Drew - he was a great resource here. Certainly helped me figure out what to do, when the dealerships had no idea WTF the C7 option was, and I had to almost force them to let me add that to my order.

, but my car also passed the 150k mark (no silly pic of my odometer, you'll just have to trust me). So, less than 5k til my grille badge, which I'm sure won't even fit my badgeless grille, but it will be a symbolic victory for me, as I guess I'm happy that I stuck around with fixing all that was wrong this time last year instead of jumping ship. So, in honor of my car's magical odometer reading, I'm gonna order some new interior trim from Steve, door handle pulls and A pillar trim from a CLK, all in black, in anticipation of getting my headliner redone in that same black. The alcantara that's on the A pillar trim is starting to sag like Ann-Margaret, as is the rear passenger's side of the headliner, near the hatch (yes, MB, it's a hatch
). This would also allow me to redo the gauges on the A pillar, move them down a bunch, and get the replacement tach installed, a sweeping version to replace the digital one that died, and wasn't easy to read when it worked anyway. So, just when you think you're done.......
At least this stuff won't be expensive this time.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
C7 option as well which I think is neccessary but a quick question...
Can the clear plastic piece at the bottom of the hatch be replaced? Mine lost the coating and got really hazy after detailer put acid on it and then sanded it trying to get rid of water spots...
Sanding and compounds havent done much to clear it up so looking to replace it but not even sure if/how it comes off.

Yes, everything's replaceable with enough time, effort, and money.
Though I've never done it myself, unfortunately. Jerkin in his thread just described removing all of the trim on the outside of the hatch, maybe he knows. My assumption would be that you remove all of the trim like he did, and then you should have access to whatever is holding the window in.I know it's a leap of faith, but I would go ahead and order the window, either from a dealer, a junkyard, ebay, rm european, or Potomac German salvage, and that should show you how it's held in place, which will then lead you to how the old one needs to be removed.
Good luck, and feel free to take pics for a DIY if you can - I'd be interested.

I'd be happy with just the 155k one and keeping the car long enough to buy a house, and then an Abarth once the house is settled.
But congrats to you. Your car is 100k closer to its ultimate demise than mine is, though.
155k miles is about 250,000 kilometers

Holy shiznet! I saw the 250k, but didn't even think that it was in km. I had a long day!Obviously I know that the first "reward" is at 155k miles; I just assumed for whatever reason that 250k miles was the next reward when I saw your document.
I am glad that you're all so quick to make fun of my stupidity.
Payback is a b1tch.On the other hand, your car IS 5k miles older than mine still.

PM me for pics.
I will pm you about pics, though, so don't worry about that!

$984 with a $70 prepaid MC coming, so net of $914, ignoring the $46 in shipping. I think I will try to use my 5mm spacers on the rear this time - when I put on my 10mm spacers last fall, I would get the rears rubbing (have the staggered 18" tires coming in, btw) on the insides of the wells when I went over bumps. So 5mm should be a happy medium. Good thing I converted to wheel studs.
I'm also going to try to see what to do about the spare situation - since I will have the wider tires in the rear, if I have a flat front tire, I won't be able to rotate a rear tire to the front, and slap the spare in the rear (ouch!) - this is because of the C32 brakes, btw. I haven't verified that the spare doesn't clear the AMG calipers yet, but I will check first and post it here. If the worst case scenario happens, then I will try to empty out the spare tire area and fit one of my original C7 rims in there, and use that as a spare in summertime (I can go back to using the actual spare in winter, obviously, so don't want to cause permanent damage to the spare area to fit in the C7).
And being the glutton for punishment that I am, I now have a Sprintbooster that I'm going to put on, I do really like the feel of them. Gonna have to figure out how/where to mount the switch that they now have to switch it on/off. I'm thinking of putting it at the bottom of the cupholder area, since there's some space there underneath the holder when it's folded up there, and it'll be out of the way. If anyone feels the need to, please start up the debate again on how these are useless, don't improve performance, etc...

Car's in to get the SRS malfunction looked at. Hoping to have it back before the weekend, as I'm slapping on the summer tires. In the meantime, have a new C300 4matic loaner. Unlike the W203 mid-gen update (this means you, Matt!!
), the update is really a nice improvement. I like the changes to the display area for the stereo, the gauges, and the armrests (hate to see the golf tees still in place for the locks - wish they would change that already). Even the slushbox felt more lively than the "old" W204s I used to have. Was cool to see the Battle of LA cd cover come up on the display when I slipped the cd in, though "Sleep Now in the Fire" didn't really have the kick I was hoping for (once I adjusted the bass/treble down to fit for human ears levels). Now, throw that engine in a new A/B, attach to manual transmission, add panorama roof, have available decent-looking cloth seating, and NO i-drive-type BS, and I might be tempted to stick with MB for another go-around. I'm not holding my breath, though.
