Got the car back. Rides smooth as silk. I think that some said that their cars looked higher after they had put theirs in, but mine don't.

I do think that I'm going to adjust them a bit firmer, though. They arrive at the softest setting; needs a bit less rebound.

Had the Eibach Pro Kit since about 2003/4, I think? Matched Eibach Pro springs with their own shocks/struts.

I was thinking about coilovers, but I don't care about being slammed, and I'm sure I would have gone through logic creep on which set (well, the KW1 is only $X more than this set, and then the KW3 is only $X more, and look at all of the new adjustments you get for that money, etc....), so I figured that $650 was a good amount instead of $2300.

So I think I'm about where I want to finally be on this car, excluding repairs, tires, and the Sprintbooster that I'm going to install one of these days. Sorry, I just can't have happy thoughts about the DBW system without one.

So I steered you in the right direction with the yellows? Most usually have their car lower after the install because the struts are designed for lowered cars so the pistons and design is shorter to allow for full travel. The fsd raised the car on some I remember.

Yes, you steered me in the right direction by telling Tirerack to tell me that the FSDs are out of stock.

Yeah I had my wires crossed - the FSDs were the ones that people said raised the car.

I do need to firm these up; there's too much float now. Just have to look at the sub and see how those screws are attached so I can get to the rear passenger tower. If memory serves, it's an inside torx.

i think the shocks are dying on my H&R's... so i'm thinking of switching to your setup. i'm curious on the ride height and comfort for your coupe once you get things settled.

Tommy, keep us up to date how you like the Koni's. Getting ready to pull the trigger on them, but a little hesitant since John (Splinter) refers to them as flaccid.

Ok, will post progress. Don't really know what to say about flaccid shocks - I guess that happens as they get older.

I'll try to take some pics this weekend, if the rain stops here in the NE.

Well, John said the Koni yellows were flaccid compared to the re-valved Bilstein's he has now. But, he tracks his car and drives a modded C32, so that may be part of it. Have had Koni yellows on a few cars in the past and they were never flaccid IMO.

Probably going to do all the suspension at once. Thinking, Koni Yellows, H&R springs, H&R sways, and new OEM swaybar endlinks. Should make for a fun ride, and nice refresh to the 100K suspension

Just tell Matt that they're all OEM pieces; he's a little sensitive about non-MB parts, unless they're his headlights.

Yeah, I've given up on tracking or autoxing the car; too expensive to fix the bushings/endlinks/other parts that tend to need replacing. Besides, that's what the crx is for. It gets little enough use as is. So the Konis should suit the car well enough.

You'll love the change the sways give the car.

Bilstein's are very very good, most anything is going to seem flaccid compared to them so take it with a grain of salt.

I cannot say for a W203, yet I have compared Bilsteins to Konis on other cars and Bilstein is fantastic, while Koni is very good. For the price difference I'd be more than happy with Konis.

It's been a week, and things are going fine with the Konis. I definitely still feel a bit of a float in them, so I will be giving them the blue pill to get them a bit firmer soon. I was trolling Koni's website, and there is a flat metal adjuster that I just bought that hopefully I'll be able to wedge in there between the top of the tower and the subwoofer, so that I don't have to remove the SW to adjust the rear passenger side. And if I still have to remove the SW, it was $19, so no huge harm in that.

Hoping to have some new pics soon; I'm sure that infected will enjoy the front shots; he'll be able to figure out why pretty easily.

Turned 153,000 this week; only 2k till the all-important badge. I know it's silly, but would make me feel that all of the money I've sunk into repairs over the years went towards something.

Will put in the Sprintbooster in soon as well; just having a difficult time trying to figure out where to mount the switch for it.

Hmmm, I have been thinking about the Koni's as well. Interesting. But I will have to make sure to paint them black and tell Matt they are OEM.

Yes, I'd hate for you to get glitter bombed by Matt for going aftermarket on your suspension.

JDM - those are the OEM mudflaps; very hard to find these days, i believe.

The Brabus wheel was something like $600 or there abouts, with a similar price for getting it done with cf last year.

The gauges are Autometer ones, but the led's on the numbers went on the tach, and are going on the DPIC. I'd stay away from their gauges that have digital displays for this reason, but the sweeper gauges on both of my cars from them have been fine.

Adjusted the fronts about 270 degrees firmer on Friday. Much better ride, less bouce. Waiting on the flat adjustment knob to work on the rears.

Got the small adjuster in the mail yesterday; reminds me of a spark plug gap tool. I should be able to get in under the subwoofer without having to remove it. Would have adjusted the rears by now, except for the rain that's coming down today.

You'll be all happy to know that I'll be off the boards starting tomorrow afternoon through Sunday; will be on Cape Cod, wondering where another year has gone. I'll repost with thoughts of the Konis once fully adjusted.
