If you want pics, do a search for the thread that I had put up months ago in the classifieds. They're both in very good shape.

Hey tommy, you think if I get that screw on top on, my biggest issue is going to be when I go to try and pull up for reverse?

Not knowing you too well, it's quite possible that you could have far bigger issues.

I think you'll have a lot of issues, honestly.

1) will the knob fit over the shaft?

2) how will you attach the knob to the shaft without either a threaded shaft or threaded holes at the end of the knob for set screws?

3) how will the bottom of the knob work in conjunction with the shift boot?

So, yeah, I think that you'll have a hard time with things as-is. Getting another knob with set screw holes would at least eliminate problems #1 and 2.

It'll be interesting to see how you get things to work, though. Good luck.

Aww man, I was already dreading to figure this puzzle out an you just made it seem so much worse haha. Well it's been shipped out already so I guess I'll play with it to see if I can make a reasonable fit or return it and get something similar with screws.

Can't find the thread either - here are the pics of the two wheels from my gallery on here:

Neither is the C7 wheel, unfortunately.

The bottom one is pretty cool, did you sow on that leather yourself?

It's a Wheelskinis overlay. I did do the stitching myself, and have the needlemarks to prove it. A seamstress I'll never be - amazingly, working in corporate income tax for 15+ years doesn't prep you for manual labor.

Omg... Just wrote a paragraph and my iPhone reset itself.. Hella bs. I was about to tell a nice story about how the dealership ripped off a man with a beautiful c230 sedan that my dad bought for super cheap but now I'm mad at my phone. Also would the bottom steering wheel fit my c230 c7 package airbag and buttons?
But the guy had invested 15 grand into an 07 c230 sedan with 30k and now new problem was body would sway when hitting the smallest bump. My dad bought it for 9 grand. Found out all the wheels had different sizes tires... Replaced them with proper staggered offset. Everything was perfectly fine. He didn't like the stiff sport suspension and sold it for 14k to a guy who sold his 07 c230 3 months ago looking to buy a Honda or something "more reliable" and hated everything and wanted his c230 back haha. Oh I also swapped those new tires and funnel rims on my coupe in this week period haha

Yes, that wheel worked on my car as well, which came with C7. Feel bad for coupe owners who didn't know about the option due to MB essentially hiding it - best $750 I ever spent at the dealership.

It's amazing how pigheaded people will be. I hope your dad shared the profit with you.

Haha, I got the shift knob on... Cut off the top rectangular part of the shift knob... Epoxied on the adapter and adapter is the part that is the center of the shift knob holding... It's workin pretty well... Haven't pulled up on it yet... Scared as ****... Haha want to give it the 24 hours to set instead of 12... Let you know when I finally grow a pair and pull it up haha. A better alternative is to creat a thread onto the shift and screw the adapter on and that way I will be in the money! But I gotta find a shop who has that tool, but only if the epoxy gives, which I would assume a possibility eventually.. Fog lights... Well we don't have h3 fogs, so that right there is a slap to my face haha. But I figured out how I can mod it to fit the 9006 bulb inside just wanna take out my current dog light and double check that the mounts are all the same because if not then that is just too much bs for even me haha

Buying a different knob with set screws at the bottom instead of being threaded would have been much easier, but it looks like you don't like to do things the easy way.

Laugh out loud well I had already ordered it so I just wanted to figure out something with that haha. Plus I feel all special and warm inside after doing something "different".

That's not a bad price. Although I'm still not with you - but I can totally see that being your thing. Retirement for the smurf coupe?

If yes, then it'll be towards the end of the year. I want to see how they work out; I still have the old F1/9s in my memory.

Though Glyn may miss me too much if I were to dump the smurfette.

Dumping it doesn't mean you have to leave here.. it's obviously a habit since you've been a member for over a decade.

Interesting that the Abarth has "bi-halogens".. that just sucks two ways.

I don't really care about light output; N NJ glows at night anyway. Seriously, there's enough light output here that I don't really need to care about creating a path of light for myself.

On the other front, if I sold/traded in/did a drift into the Meadowlands facility in the Benz in an amazing ode to F&F, I wouldn't come here anymore. I don't understand those who continue to come to a forum after they don't own the marque anymore. Never understood that one.
