Eurocharged ECU Tune 320,240,280 models - $165!!!!
#351
I want to thank Jerry and Clint for taking care of me. Clint made the process as painless as possible and really knows what he's doing.
Initial impressions:
I wouldn't say it's night and day (as my car is stock except the tune) but maybe dusk and day? It's not a turbocharged audi/bmw either that is supposed to net you 40hp or something - just 10-15 or so and I think it gets every bit of that. The top end pulls MUCH harder and doesn't seem to run out of steam, throttle response is vastly improved and makes the heel & toe downshifts much easier. 4th gear on up seems much stronger on the interstate. The car now consistently will activate the ESP or chirp the tires on a 1-2 shift.
No CEL's or any other issues.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

you're a little behind on the deal but if you PM them they might work something out for you. With the M272 engine, you may be able to do a remote tune or you might have to mail it in and do a hard tune. I tried a remote tune but Jerry wasnt able to do it, so I just overnighted the ecu to them and they did it the day it arrived and overnighted it the same day, 3 day turn around They refunded me the money for the plug.

true i figured as much. I went ahead and pm"d Jerry to see if the pricing may still be good if not oh well that's what i get for not frequenting the forums last year

can you do me a big favor? can you peak under your hood and find which model of ECU you have?
i'm guessing its probably a siemens, but if you can pull the serial number off of it or take a picture, that would be great.
thanks in advance

folks any advice on how to take an ecu out to send in Jerry. I'm not totally familiar on it's location on the m272 engine. i found a diy for the m271 but not for the m272.
any advice or assistance. trying to time it out that when i send out the ecu i get it back before the wifey needs her car for work. 3days on and off shifts.

if you pop your hood open its smack dab right in front of you its the finned thing in the middle of your engine lol.. just remove the engine cover, remove the 4 bolts and slide the harness connection to release the harness from the ecu. The harness doesnt pull out, it has a holder that slides to disengage the connectors.

Thats why you can order the wire as well so there is no down time.

If you read through, they're having issues sometimes with the M272 and the remote tune. I'd ordered the wire and Jerry tried to tune it but it wouldn't load the tune. So I just sent it out for a hard tune along with other things done to the ecu that you can't do with a remote tune.

Hey guys,
I've been trying to get my tune for a few months now. I've tried a couple times online with 2 different laptops and 2 different wi-fi's. So now Eurocharged thinks that the cable I have is bad. Anyone out there willing to lend me their cable?
Thanks
Henry

Isn't that my cable you have?? It worked perfectly for me...don't see why the cable won't work for you. I tried to get in touch with you twice last week but never got a response from you....wassup?
Call me sometime so that we can work something out for you.

OK, I finally got my tune done and all I can say is...I'm thoroughly impressed. Unfortunately, the cable (borrowed) I was using for some reason did not work, so I had to purchase another one from them.
As for the feel, the crisper throttle response is definitely noticeable...gone is the lag. It now feels as if I actually have a direct connection to the throttle body, like a cable. There does seem to be a bit more grunt, can't really tell from my "butt dyno". It also holds the gears longer. Makes driving the wagon much more enjoyable...kind of "BMWish" (please don't flame me). I'll definitely be more pleased when this becomes my car after we get my wife a new car.
Kudos to EC for working with me. I definitely recommend this tune for 320's (even at the normal price).
