Compass in mirror, Autodim - 230Sedan
Does the rearview mirror have a compass or do you have to buy the C2 package to get it?
On that note, is the autodim function a good feature or just make things annoyingly brown and distorted, like in the Saab.

I wouldn't have a car without auto-dimming mirrors. My ML has it, and my last Explorer had it and made me a fan. Things do seem a little darker and only slightly green tinted. No more tilting the mirror and getting fingerprints all over it. It's a great feature!
M-B doesn't off a mirror with compass. Most GM products have that feature and you can buy those mirrors aftermarket. But you also get a dimming driver-side mirror that you'll love. Don't go without it! Besides, who wants a M-B without a moonroof?!

Thanks for the feedback, guess I test-drove too many cars today and somehow got the compass feature mixed-up! You see, my wife has directional issues... hehe.
I agree - I love autodim in my SUV, but do not want either a moonroof or auto wipers in my MB. Unfortunately, the only way to get autodim mirror is with the moonroof package...
Does anyone know if the wiring is prestrung for the autodim rearview mirror so I can explore an easy aftermarket install?
