Calipers from a 2005 c230
Hi guys,
I have a quick question that i am hoping someone will help answer.
I know of someone that wants to sell his 2005 c230 calipers, the ones with the mercedes benz written on them
I have a 2003 c240 and would like to know if thsese calipers will work on my car. what other parts do i need to complete this type of swap? are they two pistons and are they really brembos? or are they the same as the ones i have already in my car? (oem ones)
I know that i may have to swap the rotors to a bigger one is that correct?
i know i will have to buy the sensor and brake pads as well.
thanks for viewing and if you know the answer thanks for repplying.

haha! i looked at those several times but i saw them online for about 2 months now and the seller keeps posting them cause no one will buy them.
I have 19 inch rims that i am pretty sure will clear.......are they the same as the 2005 c230 sport?
Yes, this calipers work on your car, you need to replace rotors, calipers, of course brake pads, you can use the existing brake fluid lines, but you will need to change wheels too... if you have fatory wheels the bigger calipers will touch your wheels or you will have to install a wheel adaptors... if you need to replace brakes and rotors because you need it, I have a set that I Take off from my 2004 C240 with less than 6000 miles for sale, this include brake rotors, pads, calipers... all for $250 this mean $125 each side !!, let me know if you are interested...

Yes the 05 c230 calipers are Brembo and they are 2 piston. They will work on your car and the rotors are 330mm.

you mean the brake set? no, 2005 it's different. I guess they are the same one's that you have on your 2003 C240.

C350 4 piston is what I have been thinking, but you have to change the mounting bracket for the caliper as well it looks like -- if I am interpreting EPC right.

Not worth the upgrade...only for look. Couple of members upgraded to the C350/C32/C55 brakes and said they really don't feel a difference. Good upgrade if you don't have the sport 2 piston brakes but if you do then there is no need. Just buy the Brembo Caliper covers if your only concern is looks lool

thanks Karo,
I've done the search for c32's and c350's and had no luck finding the parts. My little 2003 c240 (no sport anything) would benefit from the c230 sport package calipers since i am running the biggest rim tire combo allowed for my c240. going to the c230 calipers will indeed be an upgrade for my w203............

My thought: if I ever get around to changing the stocks on my Coupe, why go to the 2 piston if I like the look of the others better. It would be strictly for looks and less brake dust -- and of course the fun of just doing it, which is why it is down the list of things to do.
In all honesty, for driving on the street, and my normal commute, changing *anything* is not worth the effort, especially on the older car.
Karo, I hadn't looked at that link until just now! -- Tacky! Yuck! LOL

That is SOOOO wrong! Everyone repeat after me... "I am not a poser, I will not put fake Brembo caliper covers on my MERCEDES."

I have an '03 which came stock with the single piston calipers on the front. I went to the '04.5 4-piston calipers and it was a world of difference in braking. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I believe the '05 2-piston calipers are supposed to have the same stopping power as the '04.5... You will need the matching rotors and new brake pads too. I also went ahead and put on new brake lines while I was in there.

Rotors are kind of a personal preference thing. I went with the stock rotors, which happenned to be drilled (same ones as in the pic you posted above).

Ya man loool I'm joking. One of the guys who we know has these on his W204. We keep laughing about it. He glued it on and when it was time to change the brakes he has to pry it off

I know Matt has those on his 230k and he hasn't had any problems. I might run those next. For my car it's 98each for BALO and 129 for Original...save 60 bucks on a set.

That is the ultimate rice accessory. In my neighborhood there is a Civic that has the hideous prison sex muffler, a huge aluminum wing 19" or bigger rims, and 0 horsepower. Just sad, truly sad.
