Camshaft position sensor fault code???
I have an '06 C230 with about 82k miles that has a check engine light that goes on for a few days and then off for a day or a week before going back on. Guy at Advance Auto Parts checked the codes and says it says the camshaft position sensor in bank 1 is bad. Part is around $125 and since the car is out of warranty, I would like to fix this myself.
Can someone help with the location of said sensor and what to look for other than just replacing it, like wires too close to ignition or something being loose? Parts guy said that it would be on the drivers side but I've seen other information indicating passenger side. ???
I've only noticed a rough running symptom one time about a month ago and it only lasted about an hour and then the check engine light went out and motor ran smooth again. CEL had been off for about two weeks until this morning when it went on after about 5 min of driving.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Camshaft position sensor issue is well-known on this forum. Please search. Bank 1 is the passenger side. On each bank, you have two sensors - exhaust and intake. Do not replace the sensors, replace the camshaft position adjuster magnet. It's around $40. Relatively easy to replace.
Search this forum, there are couple of threads on this topic with all the details you'll need.

Decided I better get the code # before running off and ordering parts, so I headed out today only to find the CEL off again.
Now I get to wait for it to come back on which will end up being sometime this week after we get the forecasted ice & snow.
