im using H&R spring and 19"x10 on the rear .. squat a bit .. when going thru a bump at high speed i can feel the rear end swaying when touching the asphalt.. will this camber kit solve the problem?

When you lower your car it produces a negative camber which will cause the inside of the tire to wear quicker then the outside. The kit will correct this and you can adjust the camber back to OEM spec.

Step 1: purchase camber kit from Ghostrider
Step 2: accidentally smash a torque wrench into your forehead during installation
Step 3: get 5 stitches
Step 4: bring the camber kit to a race shop and get it installed for $150 with alignment

btw... I do suck at DIYs... but the camber kit is awesome

no intention of thread jacking here!

Lucky, my uncle is an oral surgeon. I go to him for all my minor stitching needs!
Phister, you make DIYs look so easy because you are obviously very handy... DAMN YOU!

Ouch, sorry about the stitches but can you share what shop did the install and alignment in the bay area?
I've had many shops promise more than setting the toe and letting it go, and then
when I get there, they refuse to adjust anything except the toe.
I have the camber bolts in the front, no one will touch them.

This would make the whole camber thing much more attractive to do knowing it's not
going to cost as much as a set of tires. And that there's a shop that doesn't have their heads
up their ***** and will actually do a proper alignment.

I just got this in the mail. Great price and very fast shipping. Can't wait to get them installed. Also can anyone guess why my front tire sidewalls keep cracking? Is it the messed up roads or is it because my tires were a little deflated??

Thanks

Also Thanks Phi for this DIY!!!

Is it the inside or outside sidewall Karo? It could be due to deflated tires, it'll cause stress on the sidewalls. But it also depends on the tire brand as well. Some sidewalls are stiffer than others. Aren't you running 245 in the front?

Sorry for the late reply Phi, It's on the inside, before it was on the outside but I had them replaced because remember long time ago my front tire got worn out unevenly (bumpy). Today I noticed that my tire pressure was very low, 20psi. I pumped it 2 days ago to 50psi (recently I have been doing a lot of driving maybe that's why I loose air more frequently). I have a feeling maybe my front wheel looses a little air because I have a small bend on both wheels and when I run on low PSI it cracks the sidewalls. Drivers side looses air more quickly than passenger side. Rears are perfect!!

Your front wheels might be leaking air. What you can do is take them off an get a some soapy water and get a sponge and cover your wheel with the water. If you have a leak it'll bubble up where its at. But low pressure will cause the sidewalls to wear or crack.

How do I know how much negative camber I have? I have read of some people saying they have "2.5 degrees". Is there a way to accurately measure? Phister- I am buying this kit based on your recommendation, keep the good advice coming. I rolled and pulled the fenders, came on great. Now on to fixing the camber. Mike

They take it to alignment shops and have it done. I personally have the SPC camber tool for my house. I thinks it's spc lol

Thanks for the response. I took a quick look on fleabay and found some DIY bubble level type camber tools. Iam a hardcore DIY guy, and will go this route. I just reinstalled a set of H&Rs with 1/2 a coil cut (prior owner). Car looks great, but way too much negative camber. With 15mm spacers, I am at +25 offset with 265's. After the roll/pull/grind- came out sick!, I have no rubbing and can just fit my pinky between the tire/fender. I will have to either keep pulling or reduce the spacer size after fixing the camber. Phister- I cannot imaging the tweaking you had to do on your car!

I can't even get a finger in my fender out back lol. I actually have to pull more or I'm going with 235/40/18 out back next.

Wow, I am guessing you rub? I actually relocated the bolt that holds the rear bumper trim on, moving it towards the rear about 2". Then I ground down the metal tab flush, all the way back to where the original hole was. No rubbing...yet. The camber correction will challenge that.

Yea don't have any bracket really left. I had to drill a new mount point for the bumper bolt. It only rubs on the highway on dips. About to lower the front more next week. My lip is already beat to crap so it'll eventually come off and I'll get my APR front splitter done.

Yet another shout out to Phister. I installed my new Ghostrider Camber kit using this DIY last night, and it went smooth . I did set the rods to 12" C to C. Still looks like a tad too much neg camber, but WAY better than it was. I have a camber gauge and will be checking tonight. The ride seems better, the car hooks a bit better and I will not eat up tires. Thanks again.
