Wrong plug! WTF?

so im changing the plugs on my newly acquired C230 kompressor as i always do with all my new cars... the first two plugs nothing unusual, but when i pull out the third one i find its a completely different plug! a full half inch shorter than the required plug. then the fourth is norma. WTF? who does this? how do u not notice a difference of half a plug? Ive never heard of this in a new engine, does anyone know if it could have damaged my engine?

Newly acquired you must mean used. I'm not surprised. Change all of them to the same.

My guess....A shorter plug reach should be colder so although it wouldn't be as efficient it shouldn't do any more harm than producing more carbon in that combustion chamber. Install a set of correct plugs and forget about it.
