Pioneer AVH-3200DVD HU Install Questions
I'm trying to install the Pioneer AVH-3200DVD Head Unit in my 2004 C230K, and I've ran into a few problems.
First, the yellow wire from the harness I received, which is supposed to be constant power, is not receiving constant power. However, the red wire, which is supposed to be ignition/switched power is receiving constant power. Why is this?
Also, the fuse resistor attached to the red wire is preventing any power from going past it... even with the car turned on.
The harness (1986-up Volkswagen VW01B Scosche) does not include an ACC wire, nor does the harness from the HU. What do I do concerning this? I used the test light and noticed the cigarette lighter is an ACC-powered wire, so what could I tap into it?
Any help right now would be greatly appreciated. I've seen lots of discussion on the Avic but I was wondering if this unit was different.

I was going to get that same headunit. Do you have the bose system in your car? Im wondering if that harness will work with my car to bypass the amp.
The ACC you can tap from the cigarette lighter. Sometimes when i use to work on headunits you would have to link the red and yellow together just to pull power.
But your Best bet is to bust out a multimeter and test each wire. Shouldn't take more then 5 mins

Tap everything the same way but instead if tapping the red to each other tap the red acc wire from the radio to the yellow wire from the lighter. There's a there's a thread in our DIY section that explains it. Its titled installing avic under the audio section.
