Thumbs up S. Fla. Sea Coupe report (long)

After 3 weeks of ownership and 1415 miles, ...

Overall impression: Great car. Love it. With all the possible adjustments for the electronic and the manual functions (e.g., seat/steering wheel position, audio system, climate control) it behooves the owner/driver to just take the time to learn the systems and find the proper combinations to suit the individual's driving needs.
Mileage: Highway 30+mpg. I don't do much city driving, but the overall mileage on the car (from day one) is running about 26 mpg (that includes a lot of idling time reading the manual and pushing buttons.
Bose sound system: I think it's great.
Rain sensor: Love it. Works very well. I do not miss a rear window wiper. Today driving across the Big Cypress Swamp (U.S. 41) in a heavy rain I was actually wishing more water would hit the rear window to rinse it off a bit. It somehow was staying almost dry in pouring rain.
Handling/shifting/clutch: Outstanding. The car reads the road and the conditions. Love the manual. The clutch engages (or disengages?, I can never keep that straight) low in the pedal travel (i.e., close to the floor) so it is easy to kill at first, but you only do that once.
Glare reducing rear/side mirrors: Love it. Really works. Will never have another car without this feature.
Panorama roof: Absolutely love it, and I didn't think that I would. I was reluctant to get this feature because I thought the S. Fla. sun would be too hot. No problem.
Charcoal leather: Great. I was also leery of the dark leather, especially with a dark car color in a hot climate. Not a problem. Of course, my car is parked under cover most of the time. But when I've had it out, heat is not a problem. Just pop that roof open and the heat goes. AC takes care of the rest.
Fuel gauge issue: Seems to be resolving itself. I have been able to fill the tank to the full mark the last two times. I'll keep monitoring that.
Seats: It took me quite awhile to find just the right seat and steering wheel postions. If I were ordering today, I would get the power seat with memory option even though I am the only driver. I like the seats, but find them a bit too firm for driving comfortably for more than an hour or so. I will probably find some kind of cushioned type of seat cover (sheep skin or such) to cover that leather that I waited six months for! :p
Car color - Orion blue - Need I say more...?

Glad to hear that your happy with your "Sea" Coupe. I'm still waiting for mine. Also glad to hear a report from south florida, need to know how the car is with this heat. I know what you mean about the seats, just in the test drive i knew i had to go with the power seats hopefully they'll be easier to get used to. Well, enough with my rambling Keep it real and keep it cruisin

It also took me a while to adjust to the seats. In other luxo-cars it feels that you are sitting on the seat, but in the Benz it feels more as if the seat is wrapped around you. Took me quite a few adjustments to figure out the best driving position, but no that I have it, it feels great, even on long rides....
