Feels like more power with no gas cap haha.

I left my gas cap at the gas station, and now it feels like I have more power.

Is that possible?

Also, are there a lot of dangers with stuff like condensation?

yes you shouldn't drive with the gas cap off. Your car will eventually throw a code. It needs the pressure in the gas tank cause gas tanks are closed loop systems and helps the fuel pump do its job. also debris will get in and even rain causing the fuel filter to clog up. You will also lose mpg on your car riding without one.

Maybe, but it reminds me that I have to change my fuel filter before summer. Hope this one won't be a nightmare.

Lol. Plus One on the fuel filter change.

That wire broke so I had laid it upside down on my trunk.

I can't remember how I broke it. Probably trying to finegle it under a gas handle that doesn't have the automatic catch so you don't have to hold it while pumping. Who knows.

I really thought I noticed more power though haha. I thought maybe that air was causing the pressure to go up, but I realize now that it probably loses pressure. There is a metal door though, keeping some debris out at least.

Phister does your name have anything to do with 13F MOS?

no my name is Phi and people at work call me Phister... Actually debris can still get in even though the door is there.

your car is faster without the cap, simple physics. your car is now lighter and thus faster. Take your oil filler cap off too and you will be really fast.

Well, in mine it isn't quite 200 lbs. The down side is that I found that without me in the car, it doesn't seem to handle or turn as well!!!

I never said their wasn't a downside! I remember a friend of mine taking his bumpers off, and seats out at the track so that he'd have less weight. We all laughed at him... Until he beat us.

Thats one expensive gas cap.
I put new gasket, only about $2-3 on mine to
esnure passing smog. They test the seal.

$34 shipped for a mistake that he made at a gas station is not expensive at all. you're talking to a guy that drops $700 on rear tires once every 15k.
