I'm a newb to the Benz world but not cars.... I'm looking to pick up a 2005 C230 Kompressor, 4dr, 6 spd, 60k miles.... I'm basically looking for anything in particular with these care that I should watch for. Any known problems?

just buy a 05+ w203... the older 203s have quite a few issues. Before buying it make sure all the Service A and B were done on it.

Are you saying to buy a later built 2005 or just a 2005 and newer? The one I'm looking to pick up is a 2005 but unsure of the production date.

I have ZERO experience with these types of cars... I'm honestly hesitant to pick one up simply because I'm not even sure I'll be able to do the maintenance my self...

buy from 2005 and newer... I'd lean towards the post facelift models like a 06 or 07 if its in your price range.

Well one of my friends is selling it and I'll be picking it up for about 12-13k which is why I'm considering it. That seems, to me, like a good deal.

thats a good deal with that mileage. just see if your friend kept the maintainence up on it.
