At Last!!

I received a fax from my dealer today saying that my C320 Coupe w/6 speed just got built. He included a VIN, so I guess its for real. He's estimating 5/6 weeks for shipment to the Bay Area.

This has been an experience. I ordered the car thru carsdirect on Jan 16th. Evidently, C320 coupes with manual are not built very often. Weekly bugging the dealer (used by carsdirect) didn't gain me much other than sympathy and a promise that I was 1st on the list whenever a new batch of manual C320 coupes were to be built. I probably got the last '03 built!!!

Pewter manual with C1, C5, C7, CD, Comand.

Sounds like the perfect coupe. Don't know if I would have the patience to wait 6 months for a car.

BW-
Wait wasn't as bad as it could have been. I have a '85 911 Cabriolet for my daily driver (reason for wanting the manny), plus my wife has a '01 C320 sedan.

UPDATE

5 months to the day since ordering, my C320 coupe w/ 6 speed is finally here! I pick it up on Wednesday from Smythe in San Jose.

One saving grace: I got a rebate that wasn't available in Jan.

2002 C230 Coupe Black/Charcoal C5 C7 Auto
what pkg did u get? hopefully C7. I drove a C320coupe (auto) at the C-spot party but it was non C7 so had 16s with some H rated POS tires. Needless to say they were squealing all the way from beginning to finish, the wicked torque is a blast though, even compared to my pullied C230 2.3L coupe.
