Password on STAR
Hi all,
I recently posted about my issue with my 02 C240 not warning me when the ebrake is engaged or when my seat belt is un-clicked. I took it to the MB dealership about a week ago and they were only able to answer one of my questions. The previous owner must have messed up something with the ebrake and decided to just pull the sensor out that tells me when the ebrake is engaged. I ordered a new sensor and have an apt. to have that put in this weekend.
When trying to diagnose the seat belt issue, he told me that Mercedes' diagnostic system (commonly referred to as STAR) has a place for basically custom settings, where the tech believes is the location that someone set the seat belt to not ding when unclicked. The problem is that there is a required password to get into that section of STAR. Has anyone had this issue or have any idea what the possible password could be?
Thanks for your help.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
Sounds like the tech doesn't have the Developer DAS, just the regular version.
As far as the password is? Developer passwords are automatically generated by the software installer when it's first set up, based on unique system ID's. In other words, no two DAS computers will have the same ID. Ever.

Well my 01 c320 has no ding when seat belt is not on. If i put it on before i start the car no ding but i will say if i don't put it on the car dings three times them the light and the ding go away. If you look at the euro testing Mercedes got deducted for it in crash testing so in 02 they were to have added it in. My question for you is what is the build date of your car? And does it ding if you start your car with no seat belt on?

Yes, you are talking about Developer Mode. You would need Developer Mode to go in and change the setting back. In regular mode you can only turn off the seat belt reminder but not turn it back on.
As mentioned you will need the ID of the system. I can provide you with a Developer Mode key but you will need to provide me with the ID of the machine.
