Help me guys
Okay here is my deal, got home Friday night and all was good, went to start the car Saturday and the car is just turning over. No Codes no previous problems other than I replaced the magnets on the cam position sensor about 2 months ago. Only thing I have done recently is change the oil last week.
What I am thinking is its the CPS and just isn't popping a code because it hasn't ran since going bad? Other than that, maybe the fuel pump but I didn't have any problems starting or any of the normal fuel pump warnings.
If it is the CPS or something else where is the best place to purchase the part? Thanks ahead of time guys.
BTW 2007 C230 with a 7 speed.

I'm new to Benzes but I would try to narrow it down. I would start to try to determine if you're getting spark and fuel.
You can at least determine if you're getting fuel pressure by relieving the fuel pressure (there should be a schrader valve that is used to relieve fuel pressure before changing the fuel filter). You could try that after you've tried cranking it. If you have no fuel pressure, that could be your problem.
To check for spark, you can get a checker at most auto parts stores. It's pen shaped and you touch it to a spark plug wire. It lights up if you have spark. Now what I don't know is if this will work on MBs because the coil basically sits on top of the plug so I don't know if there will be enough voltage before the coil to light the light in the pen.

yeah voltage wise everything is good and its turning over like a champ it just isn't starting.
I have heard the Crankshaft position sensor causes the engine not to start, but does it turn over like normal when the sensor is dead?

Fortunately I haven't had the sensor problem you mentioned, but as far as I know it shouldn't have turned over and dies.. But there's no harm in checking, but shouldn't the dead sensor throw a malfunction warning?

take them apart and make sure its in properly. from there check your voltage from your battery to see if its giving the right amount. Have you tried jump starting the car to see if it cranks over?

if you battery has just enough juice can still try and crank. You check if its your battery by turning on the headlights then trying to crank the car, if the light starts to dim its the battery. But its sounds like something else. I'd check the CPS first since its what you tinkered with last.

in the process of removing the fuel pump the connection on the bottom of the top cap of the fuel pump had a burnt spot on it.
That's really nice to know something in my fuel tank got hot enough to burn a connector whether the pump shorted or the connection shorted its not cool.

wow thats the second time ive heard of this happening in the past couple months. Sounds like this might become a common problem. How many miles do you have?
