I think you're right - I've got a very early 2002. For example, I put on the Eibach sways myself, and didn't have any issues with them fitting. I know that some people have had trouble with the 10mm vs 12 mm thing, I didn't.

Response from Koni about the installation... (confirming samaritrey - thanks)

"There will indeed be a minor modification required to fit the rear shocks but it is certainly not something to be worried about.

The original rear shock absorbers on your car have a top attachment diameter of 10mm. The top adjustment we supply the W203 rear shocks with requires a hollow piston rod (with an adjuster rod running through it). To ensure a sturdy construction the minimum diameter we allow ourselves to use is 12mm.

To correctly fit the shocks, a lot of the original components can be used but we also supply some replacement parts with the shocks for the pieces that can no longer be used. With those parts a small instruction is supplied (also enclosed), showing the mounting order of either OE or new KONI parts.
There will be only one part that requires a modification, being the dust cover – a plastic piece with (if I am not mistaken) a metal top. The hole in the top needs to be widened up from 10mm to 12mm. Drilling would be the easiest way, but since a 12mm drill bit might not be standard part of an American tool case using a rat tail file and a bit more persistence could be considered as well.

I hope this clarifies the situation, wish you well on the installation and a lot of safe and enjoyable miles.

Best regards.

Those shocks sound awful!

If anyone knows of any Eibach and/or H&R swaybars out there, Koop's looking for a set.

I checked ebay for Eibach sways, and didn't see any for your car, btw. They might pop up here on the classifieds, though.

thanks my dude... I've been searching online to no avail. So my radar is on... btw I am washing my car tomorrow for some clean pics.

the ride height is pretty even on front and rear (more so than with the H&R coils)... although I miss the dumped look... I'm happy not to have to 3-wheel it up into my parking lot anymore.

Btw... my ghostrider camber kit is up for sale... one year of use and for some reason the endlink heads are rusty.. but it feels solid. Paid $200 and will let it go for half price or best offer

Note about eibach sways - I had contacted them a while back for a set of rear bushings for my rear eibach sways and they told me i was really lucky to get one of the two last sets of bushings for our rear sway bars as they entirely stopped making sway bars for our cars.

If you didnt like 3 wheeling while being lowered, you'll 3 wheel TONS more when ya get sways on

So true - it makes getting into angled driveways so much more fun.

First shot is of the ride height with H&R coilovers with no spring pads and the rear at 1/2 turn from the "highest" setting:

And here is how it sits with Koni Yellows and double spring pads in the rear (hard to tell, but gained about 2-2.5 inches in the rear and about an 1 inch in the front):

I do miss the low ride, but am overall happier with no more ***-down stance.

Here are a couple other shots from today from my SG3

I've owned the car 10 years as of a few weeks ago... time flies

New height looks great! Way more practical. And I'm so jealous of your rack... I can't seem to find one local for the death of me.

Oy, so you're NOT dumping the car now? This is worse than a tennis game. EDIT: Nevermind - just saw your thread. Will you get lifetime grass cutting out of this?

Koop, looks good now. (sorry, phister) I just adjusted mine to the same setting yours are on - any softer, and the car has a weird, floaty feeling that I hate. I did just get a new set of rear tires installed yesterday (Michelin Pilot Super Sports), so that may have had something to do with that feeling, as the old ones were on the wear bars, but happier now.

Rising thread from the dead!

My car currently is incapacitated - engine problems and I'm leaning on the decision of not fixing it and possibly selling it for parts. Parting out, however is so much work and unfortunately I don't have the time. I'm hoping to get lucky and see it whole with everything. I'm currently in Pennsylvania near Hershey.

I can get a formal mods list together, but if you browse through this thread it will include everything on my car. These include: Renntech spoiler, OEM Amg bumper (only one for the coupe in the US?), OEM Bixenons & fogs, OEM ski rack, OEM euro convex mirrors, and many more hard to find parts.

If anyone has interest, please shoot an email to abehnam@vt.edu with the title "C230 for sale"

I had her 14 years since new and am sad to let her go. I don't visit this thread often, but will try to visit it a few times as I am busy with work.

Hope all are driving safe!

Attached is a teaser of my new ride, which I'm sure most of you can figure out...

PARTING OUT - several rare items available

Hey guys,

HERE is the part out thread.

I am sad that it had to come to this... however hopefully some of you can benefit from all that I've collected over the years.

Please PM or email me abehnam@vt.edu

I'll try my best to respond ASAP.
