C230 Sport Coup

Well I still need the stupid orings that go with the valve cover that surround the spark plug holes.
RM Euro has the valve cover gasket WITH the spark plug hole orings for like $30.
Ha, local MB dealer want SIXTEEN dollars each for the orings.
The list is 8.50.
parts.com has 'em for 6 but then you gotta pay their rediculous
shipping.
I regret not contacting Annapolis to see if the coupons could've been applied to online parts prices.
You know the coupon I sent you, didn't have my personal name attached to it, I supplied that info, and definitely not used.
Hmmmm.....interesting.
I still have a couple I didn't use + a $50 and a 25 and a few more in the GF's name. She has an ML.

LOL, should we all send you our expired coupons and let your friendly dealer cash 'em in?

I've used a total of 4 coupons worth $400 on 2 MB vehicles -
Service - Transfer case fluid change - after coupon, I paid $67
Service - Brake fluid change - after coupon, I paid $30
Parts - Idler Pullies 2 (flat pulley and grooved pulley) - after coupon, I paid $57.
Parts - Belt Tensioner - after coupon, I paid $84.

I am happy with the above except the belt tensioner I got was actually made by Gates and the price at MB (for that Gates tensioner) is $184. After coupon, I paid $84. I could've bought a new Gates tensioner from other places for around $90 (like Amazon or RockAuto). I went to MB for buying tensioner at the dealer thinking that I would be getting genuine MB part. Had I known that MB only sells Gates tensioner in MB sealed box, I would've used the coupon on something else. Oh well...

OK, So here's my list. Hope to post a picture.
This was myself and my GF who also has a Mercedes, an ML.
Most of the time she helped me get what I need since she still has a warranty.
So,
1. 2 AMG brakes rotors- $56 each extra cash x 2 transactions
2. 12 quarts Transmission fluid
3. Transmission gasket, filter, washer and oring plastic thingy
4. Wiper blades for C Class and ML
5. Oil Filter for the ML
6. Numerous bottles of Washer fluid, used as filler to get the $100 mark if needed.
7. Front plastic bottom pan for my C.
8. Various screws and clips for bottom pan
9. Cabin Filter for C
10. Head gasket set Extra $55
11. Valve cover gasket
12. Thermostat
13. Additional gaskets needed for head
14. Gaskets not needed and included in the Head gasket set (but no one knows what
pn's the kit includes, so I'm stuck with parts I don't need)
15. Brake fluid flush for C
16. Oil Changes for C and ML.
17. Window Switch for ML drivers side 180-100=$80
18. 2 sets of brake pad, which each time they are supposed to be for AMG C32 brakes,
but each time I asked for the correct pn per epc, they gave me different pads for W211.
Sold one set for $55! Need to sell the other set I guess and get Akebono's.

Total coupons used, 15. Total cash out of pocket, I'm guessing
$300-400 or so + all the gas. If times weren't so tough I'd have found better ways to spend my time!
But thank god this couldn't have happened at a better time.

Thank you Mercedes Benz for helping keep "my precious" alive, or as my GF calls her "Carly".
PS and thanks for my mileage award too, it looks real nice next to my 1st place Pinewood derby cars from cub scouts.
Didn't look good on the grill. With these parts, I hope to get another mileage award.

Well don't forget there's 2 of us, and both MB owners.

Yeah, I kinda had to fight my catholic guilt ha.
I even felt a little afraid to fess up to extent of my extreme Mercedes couponing!
Each trip was like "Will they accept it?"
Felt like i was robbin' a bank or something.
Now that it's over I've enrolled in a 12 step recovery program..

But it doesn't say one to a customer now does it?
My GF was a contracts administrator at Stanford and she was
very uh, encouraging in saying heh, go for it.
She read the terms and conditions from a contracts perspective.
She was like, why are you trippin'? It doesn't say once only.
What have you got to lose? You aren't doing anything wrong or
illegal and now we know that the dealers get paid for those coupons which I always expected.
Everyone wins. It was up to them to decide to honor or not honor them.

I'm very thankful to Mercedes. Certainly in 10 years of ownership of this car, they've benefited
greatly from my attention to detail in the fastidious care of this vehicle which I drove right off the show room floor
at $33K out the door. Then add $10K in upgrades....
I have a file 6 inches thick of parts and maintenance receipts.
I absolutely cannot feel guilty for them. But I am grateful.
My baby will go on....

ended like aug-sept .. im sure something will pop up again next yr but with more strict guidlines on how you can spend it .

Acouple of months back there was a coupon exactly like this and i tried to redeem it at 2 MB dealerships in san jose but they strictly said it was only applied towards the service and not parts.

Let us know if any of these coupons work. I need to change my tranny oil, and this can definitely help.

I got a brake fluiid flush from Smyth, and oil change from Beshoff, but yeah they wouldn't do parts but Fremont, and Autobahn did, so did Park Ave eventually.

I saw the new link on Facebook, so get them while you can, this year they learned from the mistakes of last year, so you have to input your VIN and it is printed on the certificate, but hey is is something for nothing, I entered my 2010 GLK and got $25.

So in all it is not as good as last year.

It is back I got $100 for my car but sadly they fixed all the loop holes. Not available for parts and you must have a total over $200.

Ha, yeah that was pretty stupid last time, with no VIN and
only requiring the amount of the coupon to be spent and not more.

COOL! Got mine. $100! I had figured out last time that putting the year in as 2001, as also from Trey that 2001 yields the coveted $100 coupon vs. 25 or 50.
It lists my VIN on the coupon but not the year, and hey my car was made in 2001 anyway. Dec. to be exact.
Maybe someone will try 2002 and see if it yields 100 since it's a year later.
Funny, it doesn't show the amount until you actually print it.

And I don't see why you couldn't print more than one, I did it as a pdf.
Anyone try doing it twice on the same VIN but to a different email?

Hey, that's an oil change, and brake fluid or coolant flush for $100 and also while you are there,
they will do any service campaigns you might be entitled to.
They did something on mine when I took it in last year, they replaced the dongle on the
cam sensor to an updated one, no green end connectors. Not sure why.

Currently I don't need anything from the dealer.
Wish I had seen this sooner, just did an oil change, and maybe could've had them replace the
holey bottom pan I just had to buy, I mean if they install it, the parts would be included in the
service right? I spent quite a bit replaced all the clips and screws and the pans, and just did an oil change.
Ah well.
It's all good, and I have till June if anything comes up!
So, oil change $100 and... ?
Brake fluid was done last year, and ok till next year.
Need to check when I flushed the rad last.

What maint item could I get done for ~100 to make it to $200?
