First post - Question about shift knob fitment

Hey guys, glad to be here. Just bought a black 2005 C230K a few days ago. The silver plastic/film on top of the shift knob is chipped away some. Can anyone suggest a good looking, fairly inexpensive shift knob that would work for me? It's an automatic. I'd prefer black leather and brushed silver with the star symbol.

Would this one fit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...Q5fAccessories

Thanks,

John W.

Yea it sucks; looks and feels horrible. And I can't seem to find an OEM one anywhere. I don't want any kind of wood or carbon fiber, just black and brushed silver like the stock one.

If I can find a way to take the shifter knob apart then maybe some silver spray paint to match. I noticed a gap around the MB emblem, so maybe it comes off.

CF wrap is another option. The brushed silver console gets scratched very easily and might end up wrapping the silver inside the car for a cleaner look, but I like the stock look of the car. Not what I was expecting from MB.

Any sort of paint would most likely just rub off and look really bad after a few weeks, and it'd prob be near impossible to paint that properly anyway. Also think it would be impossible to put some wrap on there. Who knows.

Yea there are quite a few on there that look just like that one and they look pretty good but I just don't care for the wood accent.
