Convex Mirror Glass
Doees anyone know where to buy the convex mirror glass for the left
outside mirror? It is standard on all the German C's but not available here.
I even tried to buy it at a German dealer but he wouldn't sell it to me since
it wasn't shown for my VIN.

Hi,
The german dealer should have supplied it, but probably couldnt [or didnt want to make a mistake] working out the part number.
The mirror "options" are
Heated or not
Dimming or not
Left or Right
Driver or Not
Concave or not
And I think theres some color options.
Differences between different models/model-years
So, guessing the one you need is hard - they just type in the chassis number and it tells them what was fitted on your car - this saves them getting it wrong.
If you tell me what you want out of the above, i'll ask my dealer for the part numbers - although I wont guarantee he is correct.
If you have a part number, US dealers can order it for you [Im told on this list] - but its expensive that way, much cheaper to order it in germany and have them send it
Note, that the dimming bit makes it *very* expensive. I was going to add dimming to an old CLK I had and at a few hundred $ I decided not to ...

You can get a heated right side mirror with auto-dimming? Please let me know, as I've been told it's not available for the C Coupe.

You can in the UK, since we have that on the right-hand-drive cars. (Ours have a convex mirror in the outside 1 inch or so of the mirror glass)
HOWEVER, there wont be any wiring in the right hand mirror, or probably on the loom from it's connector to the control system on a left hand drive car. And, possibly, the control system is in the door control module, and so it may still not work.
So, you'd have to do some "surgery" to make it work with no guaranteed results
