C230 Sedan - 6 spd.
Smile Just joined

Still can't get the stupid grin off my face.

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself before I start asking dumb questions.

I just got my brand new c230 sedan delivered to my house in Orange County(CA) last Friday night. It's a beautiful 6 spd. manual, black with C2 and CD changer. I LOVE IT. I've been shopping/dreaming for this car for a while now. Still can't believe I own it. Sold my '93 Miata and traded in my '92 Pathfinder. Got a credit union loan for $20K at 3.9% and I was all set. I am one happy camper right now. I turn 28 this past Sunday, and I feel like it's somekind of midlife crisis... but man is it a good feeling to own this car. I worked really hard for this car. One thing I'm second guessing myself on is the fact that I didn't purchase the Lighting package.

Well, hope to make some of your acquaintances if you live in the area. This board seems like a great resource. Wish I found it before my purchase, but am glad I found it now.

Cheers!
-Thach

btw, You guys are all pretty young here, huh? Wish I had this car at your age. If y'all don't mind kicking it with an old geezer, we should meet up sometimes. Nothing official, because I did read all 28 pages of an attempt at a meet. I work in Costa Mesa, so Huntington Beach would be a great place to meet. Just so we could put some faces to all these screen names.

It may appear that way, but you're still under the average here. The young'uns here are just generally more vocal, which is why you get that impression.

Welcome to the fold! Enjoy the new car. Parting with the Miata much have been hard, though.

Thanks tommy! You don't know how hard it was. It was the first time I actually felt seller's remorse. It was time to move on, but that little car was the best track/auto-x car I ever had. It was cheap to take care of and in return gave lots of fun times in the mountains. It also has a great little community, I'm hoping for the same here at MBworld.

Thanks again.

Mid-life crisis??? Do SoCal's only live to be 56? I'm 45 and I just picked up my C230K coupe 22 days ago!!! Holy dinosaurs, Batman!

Welcome. You won't regret it and I DO hope you are driving your Benz when you are MY age.

I'm 28, and I just bought a coupe like TSberkeys (white, auto, pano roof). I love it so far, but I do wish I had the lighting package. maybe I'll retrofit it someday when I get a raise (it's $1500 just for the parts alone)...

Ditto, can't wait 'til my brain just gets tired of it and lets me get back to _living_.

What was I thinking? Welcome to the forum, neptunespeed. You've probably poked around by now and seen that there are lots of interesting forums (be careful with Off Topic while at work, though ). I'm relatively new myself, and really enjoy this place.

Neptunespeed, nice pic.

How do you like driving it after a week? Did you make 1000 miles yet?

Thanks! I bought it on May 16th... so it's actually 2 weeks now. It's at 802 miles now. I love it. Seriously, no regrets. It's such a good little car. I put on a flat hood badge from Mercedes, which I bought used.

Welcome aboard, great to have you here. I could almost use the pic you took of your car for my own - almost I can't wait to get mine, though it is still 2 months out Enjoy the car. I'd skip the C32 wheels and go with something aftermarket. Cost is about the same, plus they'll make your car stand out more!

Are you sure you're getting an '03 and not an '04?? Production has stopped on '03's, so if that's what you're getting, it has already been built, so you should have it sooner than two months.

Getting an 03. Ordered it middle of April. Takes about 3 months to get here (12-14 weeks). Wish they could just fly it here :-)

'04's are already in the US, so I would think that nearly all '03's would be here also. Hopefully you get it much sooner than two months from now.

My car was at the dealer 75 days after I ordered it and 19 days after it was built. West coast delivery should take about an extra week because of the Panama Canal transit. If your car is still two months from delivery, it will be a 2004.
